Aftermarket fuel filter
I’ve done some searching on this site with little to no info, I’m sure it’s there but maybe my search criteria just isn’t right, anyway.....
I'm looking for info on what aftermarket fuel filters people have used, Along with installing an HSR I’m revamping my entire fuel system with PTFE braided fuel line and new hard lines on my 91’ Firebird. Any info and photos would be helpful. This car will primarily a street driven with hopes on doing some autocross and road racing. Looking a fuel filter from ANFittingsdirect, it’s small enough to fit in the stock location with some 99 degree AN fittings.

Re: Aftermarket fuel filter
Why? Stock filters have much better filtration than most aftermarket filters. And they're cheap and easy to find. Keep it if you can.

XRP has everything you need:

That garbage on that ANFittingsDirect site you linked looks really cheap and is certainly the same thing you can get directly from Hong Kong off eBay for half that price. Let us know what the cost is when that comes apart and ends up in your injectors.

Re: Aftermarket fuel filter
We have 40 micron and 100 micron filters with stainless steel element and we carry black braided stainless line that's all fuel compatible.
We have fittings as well.

Re: Aftermarket fuel filter
Maybe..... I'm betting closer to 10 micron @ 100% efficiency. Most cellulose oil filters are in the neighborhood of 10-15 micron @ 100%. They will trap smaller but not 100% of all particulate in that size range. OEM filters are usually in this range. They don't buy the best, and they don't buy the worst, and they don't want the short lifespan of a really tight filter.
XRP has 10, 20, 45, 60, 75, 100, and 120 micron elements for their filter body's. They have stainless mesh or cellulose filters.

Re: Aftermarket fuel filter
Well my intention was to replace all of the fuel lines front to rear new aluminum hard lines and PTFE braided lines because the stock lines are rusted to the point that I don't trust their gonna last long. I'm not apposed to keeping the a factory style filter, I would have to come up with a way to connect the stock filter to AN fittings.

Re: Aftermarket fuel filter
I don't know. I have a 4th gen fuel filter and fuel tank. It's probably something like a metric o-ring M16x1.5 on one side, and something else on the other side.
All the parts I used for my fuel system are in Post #293. I think there are pictures in Post #297. Not the same as what you'll do but many of the same parts you will need. Might save you time hunting down part numbers.

Honestly, if I were in your shoes I would order up brand new fuel lines that will fit perfect. It will be cheaper than building your own. All those AN fittings cost a bundle! All you do is build out a -6AN hose in the engine bay to reach from your hard line to engine.

Re: Aftermarket fuel filter
RACETRONIX has everything you need. i did my fuel system with -8 feed line and -6 return. a serviceable fuel filter in a billet housing. 340lph pump. internal and external wiring upgrade and -an fittings. somewhere I remember reading to stay away from 90 deg fittings as they may inhibit fuel flow. i didnt need any in my setup, nor did I do extensive research on the topic either.
