prothane engine mount alignment issue

Looking for suggestions on how to get my new prothane engine mounts to line up. The passenger side went smoothly but the driver side through bolt is off by about 3/16". I've tried unbolting the trans mount and jacking it up, loosening the mounts bolts to the K-member, standing on the engine, prying the engine in various directions, prying on the through bolt hole....I can get the bolt started from either direction but it hits the mount and won't go any futher - and I don't want to jack up the threads by pounding it too hard. Is it possible I somehow have the mounts incorrectly installed in the clam shells, e.g. are they side specific?

Passenger side:

Driver side - note the inner sleeve is off center with the mount:

Carbide burr would probably do what you need to do. Plenty of slotted swap mounts out there so I don't see why it'd be an issue here. Another thing you could do is if one side is good use a punch that has a taper on it to align the hole and force the bolt through.

Coincidentally I pounded a tapered punch in the hole and left it over night and now the up/down alignment is good but the left-right is still off about an 8th. The deburr bit is next on my list of things to try. Thanks!

BTW, does anyone know the torque spec for the though bolts? I torqued the bolts to the K-member at 34lbs but couldn't find a spec for the through bolt.

Re: prothane engine mount alignment issue

Are you able to loosen the clamshell to frame bolts just enough so that the mount can slide just enough to get the long bolt through? If it works, then go back and re-tighten those bolts for good.

Thanks NoE, I finally got it this morning after letting it sit over night with a tapered punch pounded into it.
Now I'm just trying to find the torque settings.

Engine mounts to engine torque 20-30 lbs-Ft

Engine frame mount to frame torque 20-27 lbs-Ft

Engine through bolt toque specs 45-60 lbs-Ft

These worked for me and i was using prothane mounts in original clams with an 088 block.
