Yes, rocker studs are bolted on from the top. You should be able to use a deep socket to remove.

Re: How to remove bent rocker stud?
Stock rocker studs aren't "bolted". They just pull out.
Usual method of doing that is to stack up washers or rocker ***** or something on them, and run a nut down on it. With it bent like that though, that's not an option.
Might want to just cut off the bent part, run a die down over the remains to thread it, and then use a nut.

Re: How to remove bent rocker stud?
I've never had to pull bent studs but I'd guess you'd try to hammer the old one 'straight enough' and run it out with the right tool or a stack of washers and a nut. Pressing a new one in may be a challenge with it on the engine. Or even tapping and threading in a screw in type, ie metal shaving into the oil pan prevention, isn't exactly easy. GL

I have a bent one at the moment also. Plan to use the method Sofa referred to to remove it. They have an alignment tool that we plan to use while tapping a new one for a screw in stud.

Re: How to remove bent rocker stud?
I wouldn't recommend trying to press in a new stud once you get that one out. The only way to make sure it won't pull back out is to pin it which is something the average person won't be able to do. Best solution is to drill and tap the stud hole and install a replacement screw in stud. These studs do not have a hex base. You install them by double nutting the stud the just screw it into the head just like you would a bolt.
Drain the coolant before pulling the stud. There's a good chance it goes into a coolant jacket.

Re: How to remove bent rocker stud?
U do not want to repress a stud into the head. U have to tap the hole & install a threaded stud
