Did I Cause Damage?
1984 Trans A/M built for Canadian Market as "Export Only". No ecm that I can find.
The carb is off this car for rebuild. While replacing the outer window sweep, I inadvertantly left the key on while testing the power windows up & down with new the sweep, and drained the battery. Would this cause any damage to the HEI Distributor internals - coil, pickup?
I know with the old points setup & external coil, that the coil and coil could fry.

the ECM should be on the passenger side under the dash foot cover. You should be able to see a bunch of wires going out to the fender.

Re: Did I Cause Damage?
he went through this earlier. I learned in the process that exports didn't have ccc qjets. He has a purely mechanical qjet and a vacuum advance dist.

Sadly (as you just pointed out) the last of them were exported to other countries, where the Government is far less retarded.

Re: Did I Cause Damage?
Carb came back from the rebuilder. With the battery full recharged, & a little gas dumped in the carb bowel via the vent tube, the car started up. Thus, no damage to the distrib.
