Wheel bearings
Hello. I am looking at replacing the inner and outer wheel bearings for my 1991 Camaro z28 with rpo g92. What is a good set to go with that are compatible with my car, and the part numbers?
Thanks in advance

Re: Wheel bearings
Assuming fronts, are they bad? I would disassemble, clean and check them 1st. Most likely repack and keep originals., with new seals.
especially with The quality of parts these days.

Re: Wheel bearings
I recommend Timken. You can get them on Rockauto right now actually.

Re: Wheel bearings
Timken and National are solid, SKF is also probably fine. Part numbers are the fun part you get to look up.

Re: Wheel bearings
Sorry, I should have specified that it's for the fronts. The originals wheel bearings are no longer. I replaced them back in 1996. I had all the pads and rotors changed in 2019. I'm thinking the mechanic reused the wheel bearings. I'm hearing what I think is a bit of a hum noise coming from the passenger front.

Re: Wheel bearings
If the bearings are shot, the outer bearing races that are pressed into the rotor hubs are going to be shot too. The new bearings will come with new outer races. You will either need to pound the old races out of the existing rotors with a punch and a hammer and drive the new races in, or just replace the rotors. The new rotors will come with new races already installed. Rotors are pretty cheap vs. your time screwing around with replacing the races.
Wheel bearings/seals, rotors and pads are pretty inexpensive for these cars. I have always replaced pads, rotors, wheel bearings and seals as a set. No sense in screwing around with mixing new and old parts for the minimal cost savings and then dealing with issues later.
