Tech / General EngineIs your car making a strange sound or won't start? Thinking of adding power with a new combination? Need other technical information or engine specific advice? Don't see another board for your problem? Post it here!
You said you had code 23 when you MCS was unplugged. Code 23 in a carb car means "MCS, the MCS is open or grounded, check all wiring and connections, adjust or replace MCS.". You "checked the connection", found it disconnected, and plugged the MCS back in; and told us it's now gone. Which of course was the exact right thing to do. You're now all done with code 23.
Those "codes" mean different things on different engines. After all, there's only just so many "codes" available, so lots of them they have multiple meanings, according to what system they're being applied to. Generally then, though each code may have multiple "meanings" and lead to multiple possibilities in the "troubleshooting charts", only ONE of them applies to any given engine.
In this case, since the meaning about MCS applies to your engine, the one about IAT does NOT.
