Gauges fuse keeps blowing

I recently had to take the steering wheel off to work on the key cylinder. I fixed that and put it back together and now the gauge’s fuse keeps blowing. I’ve gone through two 10 amp fuses. I went back and took the steering wheel off again to inspect the wiring and couldn’t find anything. One thing worth mentioning is the two copper connections by the key ignition cylinder were bent but corrected during the install. I have no idea how to troubleshoot.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

What year/model?

In some years, the GAGE power served the key warning buzzer (in the under-dash convenience center) and the cruise control module. Both of those have wiring into the steering column. The key warning buzzer used light green and tan wires to/from the column, and the cruise control used a blue wire to the switch on the turn signal lever.

Thanks. I did have to take the buzzer off because it kept ringing while the key was on the cylinder. Thanks for your input. How do I fix it? What do I do with the light green and tan wires?

Re: Gauges fuse keeps blowing

Meter/trace/inspect the suspect wires for shorts, pinches or cuts to grounds, etc.

There are also VATS and SIR wiring on a '92 but those should not affect the GAGES fuse.

quick question, is the buzzer supposed to buzz when the key is on? Just Key in the cylinder off position?
