I just got done replacing the header gaskets with those expensive copper ones and now it leaks worse than before. I got the bolts cranked down but it still leaks. Ihave multipull(sp?) leaks and the largest is coming from the back of the drivers side cylender bank I'm out of Ideas. Oh by the way I got a cross-threaded bolt in the drivers side cylender bank second from the front- (It's not leaking from around it yet) dose anyone know how to fix it without taking the head off or should I just leave it because that area is not leaking?

i say they suck, my copper collector gaskets are leaking horrably.
"They" say you should not "CRANK DOWN" on the copper gaskets, they only need a little tightness, overtightening can cause warpage which causes leaks.

I have the same feelings about copper. It sounds like you dident get all the old gasket off and thats were the problem is. I like the flow tech aluminum gaskets, there real thick and seal quite well also there the same price as the copper. Too bad the same cannot be said for thier collector gaskets POS's!
I would try cleaning the heads and headder flanges up a bit more and put a helicoil in the cross threaded hole. If the headders arent all bolted down it increases the chance of warpage and more leaks. If it wasent for the leaks I would love headders, but they all leak and I hate them and wish I never installed em.

I've had it with these exauast leaks- theres a muffler place down the road from the base and I'm taking my tax refund and having them fix it with a warinte and put true duals with 2 3/4 inch pipe back to a single 2 in 2 out muffler with no cats (I'v been told if you slip them some xtra money they will do that)
