Valve springs for LT1 cam

I just got an LT1 cam off ebay. Now I know the stock springs won't be good for it. What springs would you recomend. Also should I put the cam in or should I do the cam, heads and manifold. The latter two I have not purchased yet. I'd do all three at same time. Just worried that if something isn't right after I am done(which always seems to be the case) there would be less to look at. I have yet to ever change a cam heads or manifold.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Actually the stock springs with 1.5 rockers will handle the LT1 cam just fine. It wont handle 1.6 rockers however...

Yeah, but if you're at or near 100k, maybe new springs wouldn't hurt, especially since the LT1 cam would wear out the stock springs even faster than the stock cam, right? Looser springs = valves float at lower rpms...

I just bought tighter springs for my L03 LT1 cam swap: K-Motion K-700 springs (115# closed, 350#open).

Will this cam make the exhaust sound more aggresive?
I know the LT1 cam is certainly not agrresive, but it surely is more aggresive than the peanut cam.

Why do people here keep calling the stock cam "the peanut cam?" I keep seeing this... I know it isn't a performance part by any means, but why "the peanut cam?" Do the lobes resemble peanuts more than those of other cams or something?
