Does this happen to all 3rd gens.???

I wasn't sure where to post this so I put it here, I was just curious if this happens to everybody. The problem is bad wind buffeting when 1 or both windows are open at speeds over 65-75 MPH or even 45-55 MPH when a strong cross wind is blowing. I've owned a couple 3rd gens.and both of them did this worse than any other cars I have ever ridden in. I like to have the windows down but sometimes the buffeting gets so bad that the car will feel like it's shaking itself to pieces and it even hurts my eardrums from the rapid air pressure changes , but you roll the windows up and it's smooth as glass to 120MPH plus. Anyone ever do anything to reduce this problem?

Well that's not really what I was complaining about, I don't mind the wind, but I was refering to a severe shaking that happens when the windows are down. But when the T-Tops are off there is a lot of wind blowing around, my girlfriend has long blond hair and it just blows all over the place, I always wear my CHEVROLET hat with the tops off, keeps the sun out of my eyes.

I know EXACTLY what you are talkin about... Around 65-70 with windows down, it's like your going through a time warp or something.....sux bad but mine doesnt do it with t-tops off.

It's very annoying, but I removed the A/C and have to have the windows down in the summer. I find myself taking country roads to work instead of the highway.

Mine only seems to do it if I have the T-tops off and the window up more then 3/4ths of the way.. The car will start bucking until I roll the window down.. scared the hell out of me the second day I owned it after already having to replace radiator hoses on 2 seperate occasions

My car doesn't do it at all, all the way up to 110 mph. But I don't have T-Tops. I like to keep the windows down to keep the sagging headliner from falling on my head.

Yeah, the turbulence gets pretty bad with the roof off. I had one of those self-deploying sun shades stashed in my trunk, and on a long trip, it got sucked out of the trunk, in to the passenger seat, where it promptly 'deployed' itself. Finding your windshield covered at 65 mph is not fun at all.
Thirdgens are not the worst, howerver......
While the T/A was getting it's new transmission, I was driving Dad's 1990 300ZX. The T-top area on this car is about 1/2 the size of the one on mine, and at 60, it is like sticking your head up the exhaust on an F-14, just not as hot. The wind is so bad it sucked a paper bag containing a cheeseburger and medium fries right out of the vehicle. That's just not right.

That made me burst out laughing in the office.
The worst is deciding how much money is worth turning around to go look for when it blows out the window.

It did the same thing to me. I find it hard to prevent laughter while sitting at my computer in the office. Even slightly humorous stuff causes me to roll out of my chair...
