gas dripping from the exhaust is usually not enough air flow or too much gas. It usually isn't spark related because the atomization and engine pumping air through it usually clears itself out pretty good.
Air flow - Extreamly dirty air flow or plugged exhaust.
Fuel - Flooding carb or injectors stuck open.
We would need more info to accuratly diagnose the problem.

ok so either he is not getting enough air which he does have a small air cleaner on it. so if he took that off and it still did it then that would me its flooding from the carb right?

plugged exhuast i dont think it is because its open headers. or that is if i understand what you meant by that one

it is a carb eld. i think 600cfm but i know he has a holley fuel pump elc. so then we could stop or slow that down with a FPR right?

by plugged exhaust, i meant the catalytic converter.
with that elec fuel pump, it could be putting out too much pressure and overpowering the float. find out the pressure of the pump which should be about 6 to 10 lbs for a carb. if that checks out, check your float level. year and make of car? a afpr may be your answer. check it out first.
