85's huh. I might have to go with the LB9 here, 85 was the fastest for LB9 Auto's. Its kinda close. They are both pretty good.
305 H.O.: 190HP and 240TQ with 3.73's 5-Speed.
305 TPI: 215HP and 275TQ with 3.23's or 3.42's Auto (take a little off for Firebird TPI intake)

I'd give this race to the LB9 by a nose...if everything is stock on both cars. The LB9 should have 3.27 gears, which work out well for tpi cars. The LB9 car will loose a little ground after the 1-2 shift but will make up for it shortly after. I know my '85 ran 15.0 @ 91.5. The only mods it had at that time were a high flow (generic) muffler on stock exhaust, and a tpis airfoil.
Now if the cars have mods I may have to go with the L69. The computer system is much more friendly to mods, and the engines respond very well. The gearing is better. Stock they do not make as much hp or torque as the LB9, but a few dollars invested will turn the tables.
Also keep in mind that these are older cars we are talking about. The winner of the race will probably be the car with the least amount of miles.
