ok, well, i have a camaro, and i have obsessive-compulsive disorder - about the camaro. and everyone in my school thinks that everyone with camaros listens to lynard skynard, bon jovi and springsteen, and that i should have a ****** and Aviator sunglasses, with a t-shirt that says 'john deer' on it.
i think they are a bunch of dumb asses, so i kicked their asses one day and shut them up. (after i raced and beat their cars)

I don't mind Bon Jovi. Are you saying that I drive a Camaro or something?

Surprisingly theres as many thirdgens as ricers at my school!

Theres my 89 IROC, an 88 IROC, an 87 IROC, an 87 TA, an 89 RS, an 83Z28, a 92Z28, a 91? Formula 350, a 92 Formula, and an 84 Firebird.
Damn copiers! I was the first IROC, and second thirdgen cause the first turned 16 a year before me.

So as you can see, theres quite a few third gen lovers at my school. I've never had anyone say anything like I should have a ****** or something.

The fourth gens are what held up the honor at my highschool. At college no one has anything that will move except for some Crotch Rockets.

My college is over run with ricers and even some Stangs that are 6's.

There is only one nice 3rd Gen besides mine, but still doesn't look like he cares too much about the car.

My college is primarily rice. =/

But at work, my boss drives a stroked 347 Fox-body Cobra, one guy I work with has a 92 RS, his boss has a 70-something Mach 1 with a 427, and the machine shop guy (also a chassis builder) has a 33 Ford (steel body) and a blown Hemi engine sitting on a stand waiting for his nostalgia dragster body to show up.

It's a pleasure to go to work.

When I was in high school there was neither 3rd gens or ricers. There was maybe one other third gen besides me. His was a 91' RS and back then I had a 82 berlinetta. About the most riced out car was this mazda 626. He had an air intake, guages, and the gayest wing I have ever seen. The kid was a real tool. Some people would throw snowballs at his car just to set the alarm off, it was hillarious. He thought he had the fastest thing ever, I sure would like to see his bitch *** on the street now.

Yeah, I get some subtle attitude when I show up at autocrosses and road courses in my IROC. As I pass the 911's, Boxster S's, M Coupes, Lotus Super 7's et. al. on the road courses, I give 'em a little wave. Typically, after the first heat, they come by to see my "mods". "There ain't no mods." This stymies them.

When I finally form a full race team, if I am still running a 3rd gen, I'm going to call it "Trailer Park Racing". My wife likes the idea, too.

This stuff doesn't bother me. Attitudes typically disappear from REAL car guys once they are taught a thing or two. I tend to ignore non-car-guys.

My school has its share of Integra's and Civic's but we got muscle too. A friend has a 72 chevelle with a 350 in it. My cousin just bought a 78 Nova with a worked over 307 ?? Whatever it is it is putting out alot of HP. And a 78 TA with a 400. I got my 88 third-gen first, in the summer between sophmore and junior year. A bunch of other guys saw it and liked it and by the time I went back to school in the fall mine was 1 of 5. Mine is still the prettiest though. If you go by people who actually care about there cars there is more muscle than rice.

I think you'll find that people in high school will make fun of anyone different than themselves. Dont sweat it man. But whatever you do...dont dis The Boss

Dont let em bother you, thats what they want. Just spend your time making your car faster, so when you line up with their ***** mobile you can show them whos the boss (not bruce).

I don't think any of us really fit that stereotype though. I mean, we all have to hear that stuff, but don't let it get to you. If that's not you, then they are wrong. That's all there is too it. Besides, you can't fault the ****** headed, aviator wearing, john deere loving guys for knowing how to pick a car!
