302 5 speed vs. 305 5 speed

Does anyone have times for what a stock, I mean completely 100% stock 1990 Mustang LX 5.0 5 speed does in 1/4 mile? And what about a 100% stock 1990 305 TPI 5 speed F-body?

The Mustang would probably go 14.2-14.6 in the 1/4 and the Fbody would go (I'm really guessing here) 14.6-15.2! Those are my guesses but I'm not sure on the Fbody it's probably faster than I said it would be!

I've seen stock times in magazines from 14.6-15.0 for SD 305 TPI 5spds with twin cats. Mustangs are good for about 2-3 tenths quicker due to their lighter weight, roughly a 200 lb advantage. I think the fastest time I've seen for an LX 5.0 was 14.2, but usually around 14.5-14.6. On the street, thats really a negligable difference.

Hmm I see. So basically foxbodys are faster then f-bodies? What about 350 TPIs? And are foxbody mustangs faster then C-4 vettes? Me and my friend argue over that a real lot? I mean same year, 6 speed normal C-4 against a 5 speed LX 5.0

compared stock to stock, the stang is faster due to weight.

So a stang would beat a C-4 vette of the same year? Damn either GM messed up or Ford did really good.

seeing as how corvettes have aluminum heads, and better flowing exaust.

of course the vette is faster.

The Vette would beat the Stang, no question, but the Camaro would lose, an L98 350 vs an LX 5.0 would be a drivers race!

the Vette should win. i beat a few fox bodies in my Vette when it was stock. took it down to the track and it went 13.9 at 99mph, 100% bone stock. my brother took his stock 91' down last Fri and went 14.0 at 99. he could have gone into the 13s i think, but it was a little hot and humid out, my 13.9 run was in Oct
