supercharged SI Civic vs my Vette

theres this girl with a 2000 Civic SI that just added a supercharger. she and all her ***** followers claim it can run 12s now, shes never been to the track so i know that is a "i pulled that figure out of my a*s" statement. im figuring high 13s at best, but this too is a guess. ive challenged her twice, but shes backed down from both of them. she only races cars she knows she can beat (even though her "claimed" 12 sec run could take down my Vette). ive run turbo Civics and they go low 14s, but im not sure what a 'charged one would pull. anyone have experience with a car like this and who do you think will win the race? by the way... my 13.4 sec run was due to an excellent launch at the track, and probably couldnt be duplicated on the street. with a street launch, i should be running 13.6s or so.

Yeah, I'd say high 13s at best. What other mods does she have? If still running stock exhaust that will hurt. I'd say you'll take her.

Theres a spercharged Civic around where I live. Here are the stats.

2000 Honda Civic Si
Jackson Racing Supercharger 6psi
Kamikaze 2.5" header
Carsound 3" Cat
Thermal 3" Turbo Catback
B&M FPR/ with gauge
Walbro 255 lph pump
Iceman CAI
160 Mugen Thermostat
ES Motor Mount Inserts
Clutchmasters stage III clutch and lightweight flywheel
KYB struts
Eibach springs
Type R strut tower brace
DC Sports tie rods
Khumo tires
Neuspeed short throw shifter

He ran a 13.8 at 96!!! His time wasn't bad but his trap speed is lower than my cars! He spent tons of money and that run was made without spinning the tires. So 13s are the best to expect from one!

LOL, that sucks. I run faster than him and I only have 3 mods! It must suck to have Import.

Yeah, I agree with 5.0mustang, a kid here has a Jackson S/C on his '00 Civic Si and best he ran was 14 flat, his engine blew back in like march though. With tuning I think he'd have had the 13.8 5.0mustang was saying... If she has a jackson S/C I say go for it.

It all depends how much boost she's running. If she pushes 20 lbs of boost she might hit a high 12... LOL but of course there's probably no internal work done to the car... I think you'll take her due to her not running enough boost, or the engine exploding half way down the track. I would say 14 flat is the best you're gonna see without an engine build up.

Hehe, it reminds me of a breif stop I made at monro a couple weeks ago... this girl was there to schedule a time when they could take her snow tires off and put on the summer tires... the tires were already on rims and she was probably gonna pay like 60 bucks for this... Anyhow, she walks out and I'm wondering what POS she's driving... She climbs into a Civic Dx coupe with a 4" fart pipe! ROFL I couldn't comprehend why such a mechanicaly ineptit person would have a fart tip (not that they are backed by any laws of physics)... musta been her dumbass boyfriend!

there is a blue civic with white ground effects, and white rims, fart can and stickers, as you look on his trunk you can see that the LX emblem has been tore off!!! still has the faint LX on the paint from the glue!!!!!!
always see him in the parking lot of this grill where he works at.

Alright, this kid I know has the same car, and put a supercharger on it. He ran a best of 10.1 in the 1/8. I don't know how that translates to a 1/4 mile, but I'd think you would win.

I knew a guy who put a Jackson on his GSR integra. HE had some other mods also and he was only running mid 14's...or was it high 14's...one of those.

why spend that much money? what? $2,000 $3,000 for a supercharger, plus everything else you have into the car,
to run 14s??????
didn't someone say you can take a new LS1 Z-28 and with a few mods get it into the 12s?
oh well, i'll never understand it.......

anything is possible, a civic pulling on a C5
on hrracing.com there was a link to an integra pulling under 9s on a 1.8 liter all motor.
of course this is a total pro street track car.

I have seen some turbo civics run mid/high 13's with a lot of boost. This civic sounds managable to me. Kick her @ss!!

On the average the turbo STREET Civics I see running around is running about mid 14's. Thats the average. While The ones running slicks or higher boost and what not are usually in the 13.5-13.9 area.

As for why they choose a slower car to start off with? I guess its all personall preference. To me as long as a car is RWD its okay. Some people believe false info also. Thinking all V8's eat gas like crazy. Its funny though how my Lo3 gets about teh same gas milage as my friends 240 and better gas milage then my friends RX7 (rotary motor) yet I totally leave them behind when it comes to speed.

there are 2 turbo civics in my area. one runs 13.9s (ive heard, cant confirm this), and the other one runs mid - low 14s (ive seen this one run at the track). both have stock internals, and the boost set at 6 - 8 psi

hee you need to let me get all the bugs out of my car and bring your car over here

get about 30-35 highway and 23-25 city
and when things are running right should be able to get myself back into the high 14 range

At the drag strip last time there were Civics and Integras with turbos but they were still running 15s and 14s. It was pretty sad especially since they spent so much money on the turbo and plumbing and it only goes that fast:sillylol:

nah, this one isnt in the 16s. shes running low 14s to high 13s id guess. she raced a friend of mine in his early 90s SHO and clobbered him (he said it was by about 12 lengths or so). if i cant hook up, i might have a problem with her... but shell never race me. my brother challenged her AGAIN for me (i was out to dinner with my girl at the time), and she said she couldnt race without new fuel injectors. ok $50 bucks says she raced some car that was slower than her later on that night. i guess ill just have to face it, shes scared of my ride. but hey, maybe shell race when she gets these new injectors, but by then ill have a new front ypipe, cold air, etc....

FYI, reaction time has nothing to do with ET.

Last time I was at the track I raced a civic with a body kit.. it was running in the 18s. The best stock civics would be in the 15s, and a supercharger isn't going to take off three seconds.

I think you would take the civic without any problem, but be careful! There is a guy in my town with an 88 crx that looks like a POS. He runs 10.6 in the 1\4 at 124mph! The car has a 2000 prelude vtec motor and is turbo. He ran this time untuned at only 6 psi of boost. Everyone laughed when we saw his car but we quit after he ran. If I had not seen it for myself I'd never had believed it.

That car was built to show what he can do. He owns a car audio and tuner business here in Bowling Green. He specializes in import performance and high-end mobile electronics.

i heard those old CRXs can be killer because they are so light.
like Rx7 said that guy gets the respect because he is out for the performance.
