I had decided to go bowling with some freinds since I was rather bored. I decided to take my mom's Aerostar out since I had just gotten my Iroc and it is not in that great of a condition. But, anyways I picked them up, and took some backroads out to the lanes, bowled 2 games(130 and 145). Well I left it was about 10 or a few mins after, and I decided to take the Strip(224), and headed down the Strip. After driving for a few mins, my freind tells me to pull into a parking lot cause he sees one of his freinds and his bro. I pull into the parkign lot he gets out and talks to his freind(his brother drives a riced out CRX, fart can, horrible decals, etc.) Well we leave after a few mins and head back down 224 to my freinds house so I can drop them off. When I was coming off a large incline, there is a decent line of traffic, but even above it I hear a deep rumble that I immeadiatley identified as fart cans on a v-4. After I got to the base of the hill, low and behold a red Sunbird vert, with straight pipes(guessing about 2 in), and driving it was a black guy with is hat sideways, some chick in the back, and some albino in the passenger seat. At a red light there were about 4 cars in front of both him and myself, but he decided he needed to show his ghetto pride and did a neutral drop. I was rather amused, first seeing a Sunbird with 2 straight pipes, and him doing a neutral drop in traffic, but I put my power demon minivan in neutral and revved it a few times to taunt him. He looked over at me and gave me an angry look, but the light changed and traffic moved and he could not get beside me. A few lights down traffic had thinned out, and but I was following some old guy doing 35 in a 40, which did not bother me since I was in no hurry to get home. But my little ***** freind on the side wanted to show his mad "tyte" driving skills to the whole world, and decided to cut me off with 1 1/2 car lengths between me and the other guy. After honking my horn and using hand gestures to communicate with the other driver(as I was taught in driving school) he then cut out of my lane into his original lane in front of an SUV. Well he did not get very far cause there was a red light. With my luck the guy in front of me turned and I was next to my little ***** compadre at a red. I look over at him and the albino is smiling at me with some big smile, and I casually told him that I would not engage in homosexual activities with him. The albino then had an outraged look on his face and said something to the driver and he revved on me. I was thinking if I should race or not, the area was a common place for cops, checked traffic ahead of me for cops, heavy traffic in front. It was clear, so I look over at him, laugh and put the car in 2nd gear. Light turned, and I put my foot to the floor. He had a manual, so he got me off the line up to about 35, and I manually shifted it to the equivalency of 3rd and pull even at about 45-50, then dropped her into overdrive and got to 65, had 2 or so car lengths on him, then I noticed some guy in a Porsche turn in front of me, I hurridly flashed my hazards while slamming on the breaks, my tires were squealing quite a bit, but I stopped about 30 ft behind him at a red light. The Sunbird pulled up next to the Porsche and the girl was staring at me with a pair of wide eyes. I blew her a kiss and waved at her, and she just smiled at me and started to say something untill the driver said something to her, and she turned around. I dropped my freinds off at their houses and went home with a big smile on my face.

 

Aerostar's are awesome vans dude, They have power!, I have one as a back up car in case my Camaro breaks down, It's an 86 Aerostar XLT with the 3.0 V6. My dad has a 1997 Aerostar XLT, It has the bigger 4.0, V6. These vans are great for racing!

 

They are fun to f' around in. My Mom's is the 90 XLT w/ the 4.0 so it is funner.

 

If I were a ***** I would be so embarrased of the mini vans that beat me. The ones around here are getting smarter caus lately none have tried me in either of my IROC's.

I cant find the sight right now but there is a dodge car club down in IL( MM Racing or something like that). One of the guys in there has a dodge caravan with a v6, looks like an average minivan, still has the wood paneling crap on it. But the thing runs 13-14s at the track, I wouldnt have believed it if I didnt see it. The used to (might still have them up) have video clips of this guys kids filming him as he smokes a 4th gen firebird at the track. In the coment he tells how after he smoked all these guys at the track on the way home he bought a washer and dryer and hauled it home in the same van. Now thats a slap in the face right there.

yeah i raced one of those new v6 cougars with my moms 96 gmc safari and smoekd rhe **** out of it..lol.......the newer astro's or safari's r pretty fun to **** around in...iv beat alot of ricers dirving that thing...lol......it does crazy burnouts to.....i'd rather drive it then a aerostar........it's got a 4.3l vortec motor in it by the way...prety quick for a van...lots of power...

r u gonna make it RWD? my is has a 1999 metro hatchback LSi,and that **** is small.Its powered by the all mighty 1.0 liter 4 cylinder.

 

ok, well the whole thing is just a joke/wierd idea we had while sitting around drinkin and playin cards. Weve done a little measuring on stuff at the bone yard just to see if the basics would fit. This is the plan so far, take a 92 metro LSI convertable, build a fram underneith the unibody to hold everything. cut the whole front unibody frame off to make room for the engine, make the front body panels one peice that just slips over the engine and wheels, cut the floor out for the trany hump, run it all into a rearend from a s10 pickup, the drive shaft will probably be about a foot or two long. When my car is done and my buddies truck is done then we are gonna start the "Metro SS" funny huh? lol

 

It'll still be a Metro no matter what, Metro's are ****in junk, They're worse then the CRAPALIER

 

That would be funny to see. My freind and I had always joked about someone doing that to a Metro, but finally someone has . Maybe GM will offer a new performance package based off your design, an SS Metro, that would be great.

Cavaliers maybe crap but that is one of GM's big sellers(I think only a lobotimized rat would buy one).

 

Yea they are, My girlfriend just bought a new Cavalier with the "Sport Appearance Package" ya know........ground effects, spoiler, 16'' alloy rims. My little 2.8 Camaro absolutley kicked the living **** out of her car, She said "I had it floored and it wasn't going anywhere!!" I started laughing my *** off and I said "I didn't even have it half way!" WHICH I DIDN'T!!
She thinks it's better then my Camaro cuz her's is a 2002 and mine is a 86. I still kicked her *** and my car is 16 yrs old

 

I know its still a metro and yes they are crap, but think about it, if it looks completely stock other than a little "SS" instead of the LSI badge on the side of it, thats like the ultimate sleeper. Think about the weight to hp ratio, its insane, not to mention its so short it could probably pull wheelies all day long. This would be like the ultimate slap to the face of all ricers. Pull up next to them and egg them on then just make them look really dumb. And we only picked the metro to keep it all GM. One of my friends said we should rice it up so its more of a joke.

I know what you guys mean about the caviliers, my girlfriend just bought one about a month ago. I hate it but its better than the hundi that she wanted originaly.

My wife has a 1989 Dodge caravan with the 2.5L mpfi turbo charged 4 cylinder, and was coming home from work one day, and a kid in an Iroc was revving hs motor at the red light, She says " I thought to my self 'hmmpf' I'll show him" So when the light changed, she mashes on the gas pedal and smokes this Iroc!
She told me " I didn't know the van was that fast, but he just pi$$ed me off" I was ROFLMAO.
I guess there is something to be said for turbo'd MPFI motors.
