Took on a Ferrari
This guy driving it was cool. It was a new Modena I think yellow with Simpson racing seats. The guy was in his late 20s wearing a business suit. I was cruising along coming home from work and he pulls up next to me and starts pacing me. I look over and he revs. I was like oh sweet
So I mash it and he drops it down a gear and takes off. He was gone in a sec. Love the sound of those cars going at it. It was amazing to see. I wish I had a camera then
It is rare to see these cars it is even rarer to meet up with one where the driver is willing to have a little fun. Of course he throughly spanked me but I did it because hell it was a Ferrari

Hell yeah!!! It's nice to see the cool drivers. Not the azzholes who are....just......azzholes! I'll race anybody, even though I know I'll lose. It's fun huh!? Anyway, remember some words of wisdom: A squirrel without nuts will starve!

Sometimes when you do that you'll end up winning. One time I was picking on some guy in a porsche in my IROC figuring he'd smoke me. I just wanted to see him get on it. To my suprise I handed him his *** from 0-100 when I shut down.

The only Porsches that have halfway of a chance, have turbos. A friend of mine had two N/A in his *carpeted* garage, and both fell to the earth-shaking power of my VW. But I'll hand it to him, when my VW was getting the engine done and he gave me rides to work, I've never seen so many women turn their heads to follow a Porsche.

Ther are so many exotic cars here in Orange Co. (the hot rod capital of the world. People here have money and know what the hell a car can do. They won't even waste their time with you Cobra. Unless thats an AC Cobra (There are enough real ones of theses hanging around too.)

He flew by me doing over 100 after the race to 60 mph. I've lifted the front wheels twice, both times on the street. My gas tank has to be *very* close to empty, though. With the new upgrades I should be able to do it a lot easier.

Ya the guy I raced was definitly racing. This was when my car was turning 13.8@104 with traction problems(I did get traction against this guy). The old fart gave me the flyby, turbo whistling and all after I shut it down at 100mph. If we raced now it would probably be a different story since I'm probably only running a 13.9-14.1 with some good tires.
one thing most people fail to see is
those exotics have a very good 1/4 mile time (lets say 12-14's)
but still have a top end of over 150-180mph ..actually they are having the best of both worlds ..ohhh alos they handle like a dream..
afrikingoodtime..two guys here raced porsches
cobrakiller and synapsis ..former has a IROC and latter has a beetle ...cobrakiller i dont think has a cobra ....but he is right most ppl wont even bother unless its a real exotic car ...
even then id say if i had a porsche in a *carpetted garage* i wouldnt even try to step on it ..let alone racing it ....
ohh yeah and the normally aspirated 911's arent that bad either ...they are pretty fast for what they are

I'm in city of Orange. I appreciate the offer but I'm probably a little too old to go cruisin'. I use to do that 15- 20 years ago. I'm pushing 36.
I'll see you at the next auto-x event though, I want to get out there to see some old faces (and new). I haven't ran Auto-x in 8 years. I use to beat Chemelewskis' '94 vette with my dinosaur '68, pretty much all vettes there. I've seen him and his car lately and I think I now he'll give me a good run for the money.
I haven't completed the suspension work on my wifes camaro yet. Most of the parts are sitting on the garage floor awaiting the swap (i.e. trans, rearend, brakes, torque arm, aluminum strut mounts, and on and on...). This all started with just wanting to upgrade the rear drums to disc, but I don't do anything half ***. I'll take it out and run it for fun when I get it finished. I'm still waiting on Spohn scince Febuary for the subframe connectors.
p.s. Her Camaro already pulls 1g the way it sits now. I'm pulling for possibly 1.2g's. She loves it, it drives like a go-kart.
