First win for the 5.0 tbi!

I was cruisen through town on the way to a friends house and this guy in lets say his mid 40's pulls up next to me at the light with a mid 80's tbird. He guns it off the line so i just go for it figureing i will probably get hosed since i got a bit of a late start. Then i notice a rather familiar whoosh noise when he shifts at which point i realized its a turbo 4cyl tbird. Needless to say i soon had a couple car lengths on him before the next light. He then rolls down the window saying something to the exstent of he hadn't done that in years and he had forgotten how much fun it is. We then flogged it on the next light, but nothin seriouse because traffic was pickin up and waved as he turned off. So much more fun to race the older guys than the kids in my town (granted im only 18 but you get the idea).

Hey nice win! Yeah, cool racers are.......cool! I raced this '97 or so SS t-tops. These two women were in it. At the time I was thinkin' cool.....lesbians! So I gunned it at green, but I let off and they blew by me, and then we evened out, not racing anymore though. As I got in the turning lane, the driver put a thumbs up out her t-top, and so did I. It was cool to see another cool F-body driver in person.

Be carefull with those old turbo coupes, my buddy has one that runs mid to high 13's. It was pretty funny when he raced my other buddy's 96 tbird 4.6. He only ran a 16.2 to the turbo coupe's 13.9. Fords allstar V8 slower than there old ****ty 4 cyl. Wheres the logic.
HAHA, Good kill though

Well second win today. I was going down the main drag on the north side of town and i got tired of running five under so i plopped it into D and slammed it after an altima passed. I then swing back into the left lane after passing the guy infront of me and start running down the road like a normal human being. Well the altima thought i wanted to race so he lays into it and runs up to probably 60-70mph. I follow him up at about 10-15mph slower and meet him at the next light. I hit it perfect on the green and had about 3 car lengths on him before he cleared the intersection. Then i slowly crept another 4th length as i started to let off for the next light. In true rice boy fashion (aside from the japanese lettering and "thumpin" system) he goes flying buy me as i am idleing up to traffic. 2:0 so far, not bad.

1st loss, but not terribly suprised. A friend of mine has a 73 duster that he has been working on for about 4 or 5 years and he finnally got it pulled to together a few months ago. Well we were going on down the road at about 30 and both punch it. I managed to hold up fairly well to about 65-70mph and then he started to pull away on me. I am not suprised though. The little 318 in there has new heads, intake, headers, exhaust, and he finnaly got the carb sorted out. Still a close race and alot of fun.

Poor Chrysler never could make that little 318 run worth anything. Even the aftermarket has a hard time. Being a previous 318 owner, I feel for him.

Its come quite a ways since i first saw the car. It used to only be manageing about 8.5:1 compression and the secondaries never opened. Not to mention it used to have no 1/4 panels. He is still running the little 904 chrysler trans and 2.73 or 77 rear so he still has a bit to go.
