embarrasing moment today

got up against another stang today, he gunned it, so did I, and my damn bird wouldnt try, by the time I got to 45, he was outa site, it sucked. Usally my bird does very good, and beats nost anything else. I think the 2 guys in the ram behind me were actually laughing at me, very dissapointing, and embarassing/

Yeah, I forgot to check your sig, but stock TBIs verse 5.0 Stangs or even the early 4.6 Stangs is a waste of time and gas.

Yeah, sorry to say, but this motor isn't exactly good for trying to go fast, unless you do a lot, and I mean a lot, to it. Or replace it

Even stock GTs run mid 15s at the slowest, thats an auto 5.0 94+ car, and most TBI cars run high 16s stock. Heck look at my sig and see all the stuff it took to run low 16s. Thats a big difference, a full second in the 1/4 mile.

yeah really dude, before you go 5.0 hunting, you might want to get rid of those disgusting heads and puny camshaft.

But wait "usually" he does good. I smell BS. A 16 second car would do good against family sedans, minus the Maurader, GTP, SHO, CL Type-S, any Lexus, any BMW, and any Mercedes.

It could take on trucks, minus the Lightning, the C3 chevy, and the new Yukon and Escalade.

So basically if you go 5.0 hunting you better be driving something else if you want to put a hurting on us!

I'm with Hardrock on the 305 thing. Even though i'm carbed, look at my sig. All those mods and ??? Oh well. I've still gotten some kills. Not many, and not against anything but really slow ricers.

when you ran that 16.45 was that before or after mods? maybe your local track is higher than sea level? im saying this cause my stock LG4 auto pulled a 16.2 at 85mph with no problem. it seems weird that your modded one ran slower than that. are you manually shifting the automatic? maybe its the gears... since its broken anyway, why not throw in some 3.42s?

(sorry, i just reread your sig, the gear swap is already in the works!)

I'd run my TBI against your TPI any day of the week. Sometimes you just have to have to right mods to make TBI work See Sig.

Yes, it's advertised as "brute low end torque". It was an improvement in stormr's 'bird, but what he's really lacking right now is gears.

This could be something to be alert about when ordering one of these...

89tpivette, i'm 99% sure that Englishtown is sea level. With all the mods i can take my tranny manually up to 5500rpms. If i leave it in auto it will shiftat 4500 right when i start making real power. I really need the gears, because right when i pull into third gear i hit 80 and then i finish. That run was against an 80's RX-7 turbo II. Took him to 60' and then he spooled and ran his 14.3. Oh well. Any suggestions on where to get the gears, and a price estimate with installation? I wish i had your LG4. I think the mileage is what brings my car down. The engine and tranny need rebuilding.
