i know, not a 3rd gen

yes, i know, i dont own a 3rd gen..yet. but i still feel responsible for showing the local rice that a 6in exhaust tip doesnt make your car faster. anyways, onto the story.

im out driving around trying to find a good place to race my friend with a stock escort zx2. i have a stock 95 toyota camry sedan with the v6 and 100+ lbs of stereo equipment. our friend is following in a volva s80 with a camcorder to record our little race. im in the back of the 3-car caravan when i hear the distinctive "angry bumblebee" sound. a mid-90's 2-door civic w/ kit, white rims, blue lights, and of course a fart-can flys by me 2 lanes to my left. i jump over a lane and see that we are coming up to a red light. i guess the guy didnt think we were gonna race cause i shot off the line and he didnt. but then in front of us was another red light. he throws me a couple revs, i just shake my head. light turns green, we both floor it. we stayed even up until 70 when i actually start to pull away. :hail: v6. i get up to 90 with about 2 car lenths inbetween my car and his. i flash him my hazards and he brakes and turns off. and my friends got it all on film . later on, i raced my friends zx2 in the back alley of a big warehouse. i destroyed him even more. too bad i didnt see the sewer drain that was 4 feet in diameter with the bottom about a foot and a half lower than the rest of the street. i hit that bitch doing 70+. all it did was scrape the plastic thing underneath the car, and some sparks shot off the muffler, but no other damage. all in all, a pretty good night for the Toy. its 2-6-2 now. im probably gonna retire it from racing since im close to buying a 88 IROC w/ L98. any one on here have one of those?

Hey IROC_DIS, you live right over the bridge from me. Let me know when you get your Iroc and maybe we can meet up. If look under the MidAtlantic region you can see we are having a meet this Saturday. Oh yeah I want to race a riced civic too.

It's good to see that 3rd gen owners aren't the only ones showing ricers that their cars aren't fast.

the Toy has raced a 94 Ford Probe GT, a 01 VW Jetta VR6, an extremely ugly riced out Integra, a riced-out turbo Eclipse, a CRX, a new accord, and a couple others that i dont remember. i lost to the probe, the jetta, the integra, and the eclipse. i tied the CRX and the accord. i think the only reason some of them beat me was cause they were manual and im an automatic. and in the probe race, he jumped before the light turned green. but even in my losses, i still kept up to them, they never got more than 1 and 1/2 car lengths ahead. :hail: mighty v6

oh, and i dont know if i can get the video up. it was taken with a pretty old camcorder. it is pretty cool though. you can hear the civic's fart-can really good, and you can almost see underneath my car when i hit the sewer drain and got airborne.

I have had that happen to me several times. Apparently, winning is extremely important to some people.
