respect the GOAT
i had just dropped some friends of mine off after our local fair and was driving home, i catch up to this older vert car and am stuck behind hum for a little while, well i hate being stuck behind people especially on the road that we were both turning onto
heres what the road is, right after you make a left handturn off of the main road it goes straight for about an eigth then there is this very light turn to the right then you have a half mile straight untill thebridge then about another straight half or so untill the sharp left, that entire part is a passing zone, but after the left it is a windy mountain road for 7 miles without a single passing zone
well being the teenager that i am i go faster than most on the mountain road, so i usally pass anyone ahead of me as soon as we make the first left hand turn
i go to do this to the vert and when i stepped on it i think that he heard me (his top was down,) he starts to pull away from me, just a little bit, so i floor it all the way thruogh fourth and into fifth, well im going a little over 100 when he taps the brakes to say that he was done, he pulled away from me the entire way
when i finally catch up to him i see that it was a muscle era GTO cherry'd out with plates that said "pure muscle":hail:
i know have even more respect for gto's then i did before

The red one is a 1967 due to the "chain grill" and different emblems. The 67s had the 400 w/ the 4 bbl carb. The 66 was the last year of the Tri-power.

Wasn't the Judge a type of GTO? Never seen any GTO's up close except for the Judge. If it is one.

The Judge was produced from 1969 to 1971. The 455 was availible in 1970 and 1971. The 69's had the 400's. The Judge can have any color of paint the other pontiacs had, but the first couple months of production in 69, they were all painted carisoal (sp?) red. The Judge package included better suspension, blacked out front grill, the stripe package, trim ring delete, and a spoiler.

Yeah, I just got a quote for my bodywork on my 72: $2000 that's including new 1/4 panels and patch panels.
i like the new ones... i know they dont hold a candle to the look of a performance car... but hey... 400hp f-body avenger/mustang (cobra) killer.... hey ill take one!... and that 67 is now my wall paper on my computer... it replaced the sketch for the new GTO... somone had to bring up the new GTO... witha new GTO, Camaro back in 2 years, SS Silvarado and SSR trucks, New Mustangs and Lightnings, Mopar out with a new hi-po hemi in 2 years-6.1L ( the new rams have the truck hemi) which will bring about new RWD Mopar's, and Caddy's gettin into the mix, and newer and faster imports, i belive were in for a exciting 10-15 years of performance machines!! and the best part.. They all get 26mpg to keep the EPA happy this time!! oh man... and im only 18... oh joy! ARE U READY!!

around 3600 pounds. The 455 block was the same size (outside wise) as the pontiac 326, 350, 400, and 428 so really theres not much weight loss by switching engines.

hey i was drivin around town last night and i saw a 67 ( i think) GTO... has no engine or trans... body is in great shape! it has the side markings..6.5 Liter... i belive thats a 389... didnt do the math (it was at 230am)... anyway, its a vert too, there was a 4 spd in it too, i finaly found how to pop the hood on the dam thing.... all i saw was a battery, still good, MSD box, hoses, PS pump or AC pump... not sure think it was AC, and it had the exhaust pipes disconnected to where the manafoilds would be... or headers.. the car looked in good shape.. a little darker then light blue, i think it still had the tires on the car that came with the dam thing.... after watchin XXX not a porno, the Vin Diesel movie, i got so into thoes cars.... i would love to have a 60's muscle car... Chevelle, GTO, Cuda, Charger... etc... ah man... and the best part about this Vin Diesel movie, the nicest car in the movie doesnt get plowed by a train, or even shot up, its a nice car... ah i want one...

Yeah, I want to see that movie. Does it have lots of shots of the GTO? Any burnouts or anything?
The 67's came with 400 v-8's that were badged as a 6.5 liter. The 389's stopped in 66 but were also badged as 6.5

yea there is lot of shots of the gto... the best is when he orders it from the bad guys... he orders 9 euro sport cars and then he wanted a "special" car for himself... it a sweet car...he tears *** with that thing down the streets!! little tinny euro streets... But the one i saw i didnt know what year it was... there was nothing really i could tell, not that i would know anything about the GTO, but all i saw was the 6.5L sign. ah man i want a mean car like the GTO....

"the car in XXX is a '66 gto. the thing looks killer."
Actually its a 67 GTO. Indeed it looks killer. I want it, but looking over the actual car, I would chose another.
Heres the car on ebay:

My dad had a 69 or 70 Judge I believe it was. His 67 SS Camaro with the 375hp 396 dusted it by over a second in the 1/4, lol...
My dad's got a '67 GTO that he's "restoring" (read: sitting in the garage aging). He's had the 400 rebuilt 2 years ago, and that's about all the work he's done on it for the last 5+ years he's had it.

Well at least they hacked up a tempest. I'd have trouble sleeping knowing they hacked up an original goat
