just curious. there's some punk who used to have a 5.0 and always stared me down, well now he has a SVT contour. i think it has after market exhaust for the sound of it, and might be stick. ohter then that it look's stock. just curious as to what those run stock and modded. im not going to race him, but if it happen's i would like to know what im up against. hopfully i'll have some stuff done to my car by then.

My buddy had one a little over a year ago-what an excellent, fun car-especially since u get in thinking it's just another "contour", then you drive it & it's pretty impressive. He had exhaust, mass air, air intake, computer work & a 50 or 70 progressive shot of juice & it ran a 14.40 at 99mph. Pretty respectable & that aluminum 2.5 V6 has a killer sound when mated w/ a pair of 2-chamber flows! In stock form though I think they're low 15's.
Oh, they're 5-speed cars too.

whoa hold up, Ed, I see you're from MD. Are you the guy that just wrecked his car? If so, that sux, cause we're having a 3rd gen meet around the Baltimore area, for more info check out the mid atl board, it's on Sept 21st. Hopefully that wasn't you that wrecked the car.
you're looking at around 200 horses and 3000 pounds. they're pretty nice looking, but they run a mid to high 15, and the top speed is around 140. like i said, pretty nice, but probably not really fast unless it's got a good driver.

they are mid 15 cars at best no way them things will get in the 14's stock they have 200 hp but how much torque and they way 3300 lb i think not sure but that what i think it is
Friend of mine used to have a SVT Contour. It's pretty fast for what it is. He took me for a ride and it actually amazed me how quick it was. It's not a drag car but it's refined to be more of an all around car. It's a mid to low 15 sec car so if he thinks it's faster than his old 5.0 than he must of had a pretty beat and slow 5.0
