Boss Mustang
Boss Mustang
Messed around with a Mustang that said Boss on the side. Its was a 94+ body style. Maybe 93 too. I dont really know my mustangs. Well anyway I was driving my 83 Cutlass w/ a Chevy 350, its got a summit 1103 cam, 882 heads, flattop pistons weiand aluminum intake and a edelbrock carb. Rearend gear is 2.41
I was doing 35-40 and it came up fast, not full throttle but definately trying to play. I dropped it into first gear and pull decently on it once he went full throttle. Im just curious if NIC or any of the other mustang owners know anything about this car, what it runs quarter mile stock.
I know it had exhaust and headers...because I could see the headers underneath.

There hasn't been a real Boss since the early 70s, bud. This one wasn't real. I've heard of dealers adding boss stickers and such, but it was more than likely a GT 5.0 or 4.6.
Depending on the motor/transmission/bodystyle it could have been anything from a mid15 second car to a mid 14 second car if it were the SN platform, and possibly low 14s if it were the fox platform.
Chris
edit: I can't remember too clearly, but I seem to recall something from the factory in the 90s. I'm positive they didn't add any performance to the GTs, but there may have been something from the factory in the way of a graphics package. Nic??

That's it. From that guy, Larry shinoda. He's the dude to started off boss mustangs with the Boss302 and Boss429. I don't know if he was responsible for the limited Boss351. I can say for sure, though that since he died, he won't be responsible for the upcoming boss.
Anyway, that was the graphics package I'm thinking about, and there is no additional performance. It is just a GT.

I was just looking it up to read about it a little, and I stand corrected. There were some "performance" Boss shinoda mustangs that had some suspension parts and apparently, though I've never heard of it, a supercharger.

Hmmmm... You just messed with George. Its a teal or blue or whatever 94 (I think) Mustang. Its says like boss and 302 on it. He has full exhaust (Headers included), Chip, and lots of stickers... lol
Its nothing like a boss. Its a GT with boss stickers and a few bolt ons. I live in Marion, IN also... Hes all show and no go!
Later!

1.2 seconds!!! Are you sure that is right? That is damn fast for only 800 rwhp. Diablo's do it in 3 flat, lingenfelter vettes and vipers go about 2.5 0-60, but 1.2? I don't know.

Yea i think I remember that,
the mustang broke down during 1/4 mile racing, but they rigged it up to work and finally took the camaro in the 1/4 but it broke down again on the road coarse where the camaro did fairly good.
that was pretty cool matchup

Neither one of them could get through the race without breaking. That story was borderline comical on how they were building those two pieces of **** up to be so badass.

yea now that I think of it, i think the camaro blew an axle during a 1/4 mile run. the gm guys had spare axles ready though LOL
and the stang had lifter troubles or something and had to rush back to town and buy some more, then it broke down altogether for the road course part of the match up. Melted the brakes or something like that. can't remember. who cares
colletti and moss had a good rivalry going on though

yeah, 1.9 sec 0-60 is a little more realistic. I remember that article too from last year. The title was something like "1,020 hp showdown" or something. It wasn't that bad of an article.
