12 sec mustang

There is kid running around here with a 88 mustang that runs 12.1. He wants to race me with my '86 Iroc. I went 12.80 at 111mph with street tires all motor. I think with a set et streets I can take him. He is on et streets. Think I should run him for $$$. I know I could take him the nitrous but, he wants to race all motor. please let me know what you guys think.

Agreed, 111 mph would be a low 12, and might even be a hair slower than a 12.1 (my dad went 12.38 @ 110, and a friends LT1 went 12.31 @ 111). I would race but not bet $$!

Back when I still had the stock setup on the TTA, I ran a best of 12.15@111.09.

It would be a very close race if you put better tires on. Is it going to be at the track or on the street?

It will probably be at the track sometime in october. He ran a best of 12.1, but constently goes 12.3. The only time I went to the track it was around 98 degrees and really humid. I think I could take him. If not I will have to shoot a 100 shot of n2o. I will try to video tape it. He wants to go for $$ I agree it will be very close. thanks for the input guys

you made the mistake of telling that ****** you had nitrous. WTF where you thinking???? if you are gonna race for cash, bait him the first time, let him beat you or if he can't keep it close, then race him for money and turn your bottle on.

i would really consider not running for money, i dont think that slicks will take off .8 unless you have bald sh*tty tires right now. my suggestion hit the button.

383's make a LOT if torque. A friend of mine runs 12.4's on street tires and 11.4's on 28X9" slicks.

Saw a pic of your car out at Big Shot Dyno yesterday. What did it put down? Are you going to race at 42? Let me know when, I'll be there for sure!

It has an holley 750dp, edelbrock victor jr intake, comp cams nitrous cam with .477/.490 268/286 with 13 degree lobe seperation, 1.6 ratio roller rockers and trickflow twisted wedge heads. Just got combo dynoed on chassis dyno made 331hp and 436 ft lbs of torque only took motor to 6,000rpm I think if I would've taken higher I would've seen more hp.
