Ok My buddy's 00 GT is running 14.4 and I can run 14.28 (5500 feet). He has these mods:
Sean Hyland Forged 4.6 longblock
Ported and polished heads
MAFterburner
Off-Road X-pipe with Magnaflow catback
3.73 gears and 5 speed manual
Cold air intake and mass air sensor
It put 256 RWHP in Albuquerque (5500 feet)
Since then he got a T-56 six-speed in it now, possibly longtube headers, and possibly drag radials. I say possibly cause he is kind of secretive but I know his dirty tricks.
My mods are in my sig for that 14.28@ 5500 feet, since then I have gotten this on my car:
Hooker 3 Inch cat-back( old run was with 2.5 inch stock )
Summit 3 inch cutout
Fresh Royal Purple oil
Recurved the distributor to get it all in by 3000
I have no drag radials but I think I will still take him any thoughts?
PLEASE NO COMMENTS THAT WE ARE BOTH SLOW CAUSE REMEMBER WE ARE AT 5500 FEET!!!AND YES, I CAN BEAT A C5.

I think the stang will edge you out now. Get a 2800+ Vigilante converter and drag radials and you should have no probs.

I think the Stang should be able to take you by a little. It would be a great race to watch.

If he has long tubes and traction now he will probably take you. Those cars love raction and do very well with it.
Man you NEED to go to a sea level track, those numbers look scary slow, even though they are very fast. I am just very glad you dont correct for altitude.. but list the altitude you run at!
I know your pain as I have raced at 3500' and it was horrible. I was about half a second off my normal times!

Oh yeah I am bypassing my powersteering PUMP on my serpentine drive with a shorter belt. I expect that it will give me 2-3 tenths .

Royal Prple is a full sythetic oil that I've seen gain some one a tenth in the quarter. It is supposed to adhere to the metal surfaces better to reduce friction, besides I have WAl-mart brand oil in it now.
jocww, did you say chip??
as in a computer chip? maybe you should read my sig agiain where it says 600cfm carb. No electronics here just old fashioned gas pouring into the motor.
