ran a 97 Z

I was heading into town the other night and came up to this guy in a 97 Z28. White with orange stripes and white wheels. we were cruising next to eachother and then he hit the throtle twice so I decide to go for it. (there were no cars around for a few miles) We both flore it and are dead even up to 115 mph. Then we let off. I was pretty happy that the TPI hung with the Lt1 at those speeds. I was sure he was going to kill me in the upper rpms.

It could be an older one. I assume it was 97 becasue of the stripes and white rims, but it could be a look alike.

If you look in his sig it says he runs a 14.0xx which is pretty much where most stock lt1's are(high 13's, low 14's). Good Job none the less.

also when his car was bone stock it could be low 14s. A g92 L98 Z should run low 14s with good tune. My 91 ran 14.3

I got the 14.0 the first time I have ever been to the track. (just got teh car a month ago) It will easily be into the hight to mid 13s when I leanr to launch. before I was just hitting the gas right before the green light. I got a .1 something reaction time and quite a bit of wheel spin.

Good kill. The LT1 he raced was a 97 model since the white option wheels and paint and stripes and such were only offered that year. If you raced any farther I bet he would have pulled away. Even though the two cars share similar ET's, once you get past 100 your 1/4 times can go out the window.

nice man , i love that stance on your car , does your air dam scrape a lot. Also with those trap speeds you could run a little faster if you had less wheel spin.Out gtp runs a 13.83 @ 99 so you can deffy get a 13 . Also with your car lowered that much to so have suspension stuff done to that car . If not you should look into some stuff . like relocation brakets and an adjustable torque arm.

yeah the air dam scrapes all the time but I wouldn't change it. I have global west LCas and LCA relocation brackets and an adj panhard bar along with 3.42s out back. I will be faster, just need a little more practice.

I've had plenty of the same experience. Very nice ride!!! Looks the same as mine, down to the TT II's except it's blue. Congrats!

Very nice looking Camaro.

You know I don't get the whole you hung with an LT1 deal, Yahoo!! They were just a small improvement over the stock L98 and you have intake and exhaust mods as well as other suspension mods and stuff I probably can't see. So I think it would always be a close race if he was slightly modded and I think you would take him if he was stock.
