Well, I had an 89 RS with an auto that beat the snot out of a riced out Del Sol, but also got pulled on my a 2000+ model Cavalier. Since you are a 5 speed, you'll probably hold up a little better from a roll, but don't expect to beat much on the street unless you start modding the ***** outta that little 305.

Well, you're probably in the same boat as me. My stock lb9 fairs best from a dig, being what torque I have is down low, and my induction limits my efficiency at higher speeds.

Since with a stock lo3, the power's not all that great, but the torque(is it 250-260 ft. lbs?) makes up for it, which is why 0-60 runs are more in your favor.

Your car, and assuming you're a decent driver, shouldn't have much of a problem with lightly modded civics, integras(non gsr), non turbo newer model eclipses, etc.

but from highway speeds, little harder to say.

well just say your at mid 15's at best you shouldnt have a problem with any civic unless its got some good mods. most intergras but the gsr shouldnt be a problem. v6 4th gen camaros/newer mustangs might be about even with you but probally beating you. the new rsx acura thingy will take you out. mazda 6 will give you a good run i think they are about 15.8. just watch what you race and keep tabs since your probally between 15.6-16.2

Youll pretty much take any base model 4 cylinder car. Like non vtec civics, accords, del-sols, integras, etc. And most of the vtec models aswell. Stay away from preludes, GSR and type R integras, RSX's, RX8's, and anything with a turbo or supercharger. Also like said before you should run even with newer v6 camaros and mustangs. If you had an auto I would say not to race anything so thank G0D you have a T-5 because they run way better times than auto cars. Good Luck and be safe.

Most vtec hondas run around the same times as you and if you can drive youll probably take them. Type R's and GSR's run low 15's. Most the type R's youll see are probably fake. THey probably just have the sticker, wing, and carbon hood and nothing else.

Well, I gotta say you wont be defeating much. Youll maul basem odel cars as it has been stated. Accords will be acake walk for you. You should be running mid 15's. However, watch what you race. If a Honda or naything lines up with you with a body kit, it most likely is a R!cer but if u hear a wastegate or any turbo action, back down, cause youll get beaten. But I have beaten a couple Del Sols, Civics, Accords, and alot of weak cars but if its a stronger car I have to pull out the t-top to even stand a chance.

I disagree. I don't think anybody here should back down, even if it means a loss. Getting beaten doesn't really humiliate you, it only inspires you... and pushes you to see that it will never happen again. Its apart of the bonding process between you and you're car.

I'll give an example; I was this close (holding fingers practically together) to selling my own 86 IROC (305), in favor for a newer LS1 corvette.... when one day I got destroyed by some schmuck in his daddy's Viper (mind you, both he and his friend ridiculed the hell out of the IROC the whole entire time). I knew I was going to get killed, but I'll race anyone... this is what we do.

I remember getting home and being in absolute disgust at what just happened, but rather than put my head down and succumb to the faster Corvette... I decided to keep the IROC, and re-claim some of it's initial respect that it once had....

Of course, I myself didn't keep the tired 305... I went with a 454, but the point I'm trying to make is that losing can be beneficial.

After I got the engine running the way I wanted, I took her out for a little test and tune.... when I stumbled upon a TT Supra on Route 9 in Old Bridge New Jersey. He had no idea what I was running, as the car appeared pretty stock on the outside (minus the cowl), but after he got raped, I soon found myself asking myself, LS-what?

I never crossed paths with that Viper again though, unfortunately.
