3.4L Vs. IS300

Well, I had a Lexus taunt me into a race tonite. Went from a slight roll off a light, I pulled him by about 1.5 cars by 65~. I thought they were faster than that, but my car runs stronger now somehow (it was in the shop for a minor issue). Funny, the ball was dropping as I was dropping the "open exhaust hammer". Great way to start off the new year.

Theres a real nice video on there of him nippin at the heels of an Ls1 T/A. Its a mean little v6 youd never know it if you didnt see that 2.8 sticker on the back. Nice kill Fbod, cant wait to see that beast run at the spring gathering. Hopefully I will have my gears by then so that I can be one of the faster cars there.

Doubt it, they aren't really all that fast. I used to beat them in my GSR.

Plus, most cars cost more than a third gen.

stu,

1. If you compare it to every other car on the road, no it's not very fast at all. If you compare it to a 2.8L V6 (135 HP) or even a 3.4L (160 HP), its engine seems pretty beefy (215HP).

2. Although a valid point, the a (new) IS300 still costs around 10x more than the average third gen if we say a decent one runs for about $3000... most are cheaper. I paid $2000 for mine, and it has a V8.

Anywho, I'm sure FbodTrek has more than $3000 invested in his car already so oh well.

A GSR is a racecar tho.... I'd hope you'd be faster than an IS300 with a B18 manual in a car that only weighs 2500lbs....

I don't understand? It's not a racer car. It weighs less, but not that much less (it doesn't weigh 2500lbs) and the GSR has lots less power. They are actually very close in performance.

Well heck, than I guess it would be a drivers race. My car ran an 18 stock.....don't run 18's no more
I wish I would have had the bottle full, I would have embarassed him, then after the slowdown, cut in front to let him know he just got raped by a "2.8L" car....

No, no, and not really. Haven't you been paying attention? But what does this thread have to do with me?

I have a few questions of my own. If Fbodtech or whatever has a 3.4, why does he have a badge that says 2.8? Also, you'd have to have your head stuck up your *** to think that Honda is responsible for making the Civic out to be a sports car. Honda is about economy, always has been, and always will be. If they weren't they'd make a V8 for their consumers, or at least slap a turbo on a car to compete with their competitors.

Because it came with a 2.8 from the factory

Same reason I don't badge mine as a z28 because it has a v8 now. Because its still a v6 3.1.

You trickesters. Except you don't badge yours as a Z28 because it's not one. Don't worry, I'm just riding his ***** for being a liar.

You dont need a thirdgen to post, I dont own one and will probably never own one in my life!

As for the kill, its a nice one, but I hate using the comparison of money. That car costs 10x as much because it is 10x the car. Ride is better, better gas mileage, more room, more comfort, softer ride, etc... Being slower is a by product of all these luxurys, and its not even that slow of a car! Not taking away from the kill, the owner went for it and lost, but using cost is pointless. My car is a lot faster than ANY new luxury car worth $30,000-100,000, but I will never mention price, as it doesnt even come close to comparing anywhere else but a 1/4 mile to these cars!

Thats my 2 cents!

Yep, I can hardly even think of a car that costs less than a third gen that isn't just a heaping pile of ****. Don't take this as an insult fellas because it's not. You'd just be blind to not agree that Camaros are cheap throw away cars as much as most other cars are. I'd name some more cars in the same category, but I don't have hours to make a list with thousands of cars on it. My car is in the same category.

No stu I have not really been paying attention to the street racing board all that much because it seems all it is "can my L03 beat this.... or can I beat a Evo.....or I beat this truck". Not to say this is not a good beard its just a bunch of what I already posted. But stu when I am in here it seems like you are all over the place, and that you just are in here to diss american cars or thirdgens for that matter. You would think that you being banned would kinda tell you that. If one of us came in to your Honda forum or something along those lines and just talked crap about Hondas I bet there would be people with the same attitude, why is he even wasting his time.

I am in no ways trying to start something. All I asked was if Stu has a third gen, had a third gen, or even likes third gens. And what I got back in the true fashion of stu is a smart *ss answer.

Please take the time to find a few things:
1) ANYWHERE that I ever said anything bad about domestic cars.
2) A time when I was ever banned, because I wasn't.

You got back a smart *** answer because this has been covered over and over now, and I'm sick of people just crawling out of the wood work to point at me and say, "Hey, what's he doing here?" for the millionth damn time.
See, if you paid attention more, you'd know these things and save yourself from looking silly.

I was on probabtion, when they went to take me off probabtion some freak thing happened and my account got deleted. I didn't really believe that I was banned because I knew they weren't going to ban me, so I just reregistered.

meh...his comments are acceptable, he doesn't bother most that don't have inferiority complexes. As for the Badging of my car, it's completely intentional. When I beat some "superior" car in a race, I want them to think they got stomped by a 2.8L Camaro. It's also useful for taking peoples money. Sorta like a guy with an H22 in an Accord that looks relatively stock (or a Civic). I like getting wooped on by little cars that are usually slow, makes me smile and laugh

This is exactly what happeend. VB2 error. If he was banned he would not have been able to register with the same name again. Fluke misshap. I have never seen it my entire time on this site.
