305 vortec vs. 305 HO, who will win...?

short question...

my car (mods in sig) vs. 89 formula 305 HO 5-Speed, 3,45 axle, mc leod clutch and few suspension mods (poly bushings etc.). he had a best of 14,7 with g-tech. my car only a 15,3 with no carb and ignition tuning (had only 30° max advance)

who will win?

thanks,
nebu.

There is a big difference between 15.3 and 14.7. I would say you would still lose.

Just FYI....there is no 89 "HO". The real HO cars were 1983-1986, RPO L69 for Camaro and Trans Am. Youre going to lose.

I own an L69, I just changed over to a Jet performance Q-jet, and a set of TES headers and Vortecs. It's a lot faster but I don't have dyno #'s yet. I don't see your axle numbers in your sig, and is it a posi? Because what most of this street racing junk comes down to is how good are you at cheatin' the start, and can you put the power to the ground.

drivetrain, suspension etc is all stock. the clutch slipped a little in the 1st gear.
engine analyzer gives me a peak of 346hp at 6000rpm.
i hope its in the ~300hp range. axle is a 3.08. no posi.

Nebu.

p.s. if i dont run at least a low 14' in may at the quarter, i think i'll throw a supercharger on it and drive it til its blown and build something bigger (yea i know that the suspension etc. needs some attention too )

If you have 300plus HP (was this on a dyno?) and no posi, you're hurtin', also if it's at 6,000 rpm, with the 3.08 gear, you'll never be able to use it because you will never get into that rpm range.
