Early Mustang

I have nothing against Mustangs but I noticed most of the owners are Camaro haters.(im a genius)

I was driving with my girlfriend with the T-Tops off (She never knew i could take the glass off)

Then a late 80s - early 90s Mustang comes up in the other lane (sounding) at WOT. So i punch it and had no problem keeping up.
Once i hit around 50 and im passing easily, an old lady in a volvo decides she has to get somewhere so quik, she has to cut ME off.
So i had to slow down and let her put along. The mustang stayed in his lane and i let him go. I dont race usually, especailly with my girlfriend. They were cocky and prolly think they won.

Whatever. I drive a Camaro

I thought you had nothing against mustangs? Are you sure they were cocky or did that just make the story better. I would be careful against all cars in an LO3. We are the underdogs on the streets.

I am careful, but i noticed his car was not a sleeper, it was really junk, but he had 3 other kids in his car.

Im just saying, even though most cars are more powerful, i just love my car

Most of the time when i see a mustang on the road it is either a 16 year old girl or a some goofy lookin kid with a weird look.. unless it is like a cobra or saleen, then it so middle age guy that want even put the pedal half way done (even though he wouldnt have to do that to beat my 305) but i think mustang vs fbodies is a stupid rival thing.... cant we just all agree that it is Imports that suck!

Jeez I'm getting old. When I read "early Mustang", I'm thinking late 60's, early 70's.

Me too, I guess I got an early one then!

Its usually the old guys that will scare you, catch you by surprise! I guess I fit the doofy looking kid scenario maybe...

Doesnt matter, its always great knowing all 3 of my cars are 9.6's or better in the 1/8th

Well, Im hopin the Camaro will run that now

Your lucky, my Jeep was probably in the high 9s low 10s, and the 4cyl is probably mid 13s, in the 1/8th, lol! However my 5.0 is 8.4 on radials, 7.9 on slicks, and as it sits now, slicks are all I have!

Considering the almost forty years of Pony Wars - GM threw in the towel, thus handing the Pony War Championship trophy to Ford, undisputed. Back when the Mustang II was a joke, the Corvette was dying of smogalitis, and the Z28 wasn't that good, either, Pontiac was still throwing 455 SD's in their F-cars (early and mid seventies). It's a shame Pontiac couldn't have told GM to go to Hell and continued making the Firebird. Looks like they never will, either. *sigh*

You need a new girlfriend....

These are times from 25thmustangs sig (which I'm sure you seen). Those earlier stangs, especially LX models can be pretty quick. His 12.56 time is pretty dam respectable for what he has in it.

Mine: 89 LX, Stock Heads/Cam/Suspension just bolt ons.
12.56 @ 106 (1.69 60') On Slicks.
12.99 @ 108 (2.06 60') On 17" STREET Radials.

I agree, my GF would know Ttops, not to mention has gone mid 13s, at only 17 years old (shes 18 now) ! There out there, you just gotta find them.

As far as my times, wait till I get suspension, 4.10s, and rebuild my short block with some flat top 86 pistons, hello 12.3s or better ! Than maybe some nitrous, and who knows...

I'm only 21, almost 22. Last time I dated an 18 year-old, was when I was 18.

Tell me about it, my last GF I was 18 she was 19. This one I was 19 she was 17, and now Im 20 and she is 18 (she turned 18 before I turned 20). I am never one for going for the young girls, but she was more mature and better than any of the girls my age I knew, and I ran my first 12 second pass racing her!!!
