Gots me a thirdgen kill :(

Haha, this morning was fun. I got 3 races before 11 AM. It's 10:57 as I'm typing this.

The morning started with me getting in my car, and heading out to the DMV, this all happened on the return trip.

The first was a Honda CRX. Fart pipe, a sticker or two, and a CUTE girl riding shotgun. She had wavey brown hair with brown eyes that seemed to say "do me.. do me now."

I observe Mr. CRX hastily weaving through traffic, so with my smarts I pick the one lane that's empty, and casually cruise up next to his door, while he sits in the spot that he worked so hard to acheive. Our eyes met for a moment, and the race was on.

I slammed the shifter down into second (I know, I know, blasphemy to shift an auto manually) and gave him the hit. I heard the glorious sound of angry bees in a coffee can and knew he had floored it. That was the only way I knew, because he hardly gained at all.

I gave it the full 100% WOT fury of 300+ ponies flying through my drivetrain, accompanied by the awesome and overwhelming WAAAAAAAAAAA coming from my Dynomax Bullet Muffler resonator. I came, I saw, I conquered.

As I moved into his lane to get to the next turn, a red 3000 GT pulled up beside me in the other Left Hand turning lane. It was a very clean car, with a young man driving.

I turned up Disturbed - Meaning of Life (on my new subs and amp) to the max without distortion, and proceeded to render myself deaf. We nodded and it was on.

With the gear selector in first I rounded the turn, waiting for him to take the hit. He took it. As I smashed the loud pedal the pull was quick and painless, and took him by about a car length in something close to an 1/8 mile, barely reaching 60 MPH. The race didn't last more than 5-6 seconds, with me being a clear victor. He turned off at the next light.

Mr. CRX was still behind me, and this is when I got to see the CUTE little hottie in the passenger's seat of his car. He decided to pull along side me and try to pass. Needless to say, I wouldn't let him. I'm such a bully. I eventually needed to turn, and let him by, flashing him the "Peace" sign, which he returned. As they went by the girl looked at me, smiled, and winked. I hope I find her in a parking lot or something.

All of a sudden, a red 85-87 Z28 (Couldn't tell if it had a CHMBL) who had been watching these events unfold, appeared on my driver's side. From whence he came, I havn't a clue. But things seem to take on a different spin when you're racing, and you seem to lose track of reality.

He threw me a rev or two, and I could tell he was running a flowmaster. I knew this wouldn't be a problem, unless he's either dumb or poor (refering to his muffler). I didn't hear a lope at the stop light, and I was hoping it was at least a 350.

Apparently no cigar. My guess was that it was a TPI 305 LB9 motor, as Tuned Port Injection was visible on his back bumper as he drove away. I beat him pretty good, but he held on better than most.

After this I drove home and decided I would post so that my brethren (I USED to own a thirdgen) could hear about my morning.

Ciao!

What sort of modifications have you done to the 25th? Looks nice, like the screensaver picture I got off of the 30th anniversary site.

Edit: Doh, I should really learn to look as people's signatures...

Havn't really done much, as you can see. I do have plans for the car as soon as I get another vehicle however.

Yeah I hope that chick is looking for me.. she was HOT.

Yeah some LT1s can be dogs. Mine came with the best gears from the factory, and has been IMPECCABLY maintained, so I'd imagine that it's faster than most with equal miles and mods.

The early LT1s with 2.73s in an A4 were just so doggy it was rediculous. They'd hit 14.3s or so.

The previous owner ran my car to a 13.8@100 with just a flowmaster muffler. That was the only time the car ever went to the track, or was ever beat on in any way. I have yet to run it.

Yeah there are some fast 305s, just not many hehe.

One problem of why a lot of non camaro guys consider camaros slow. The slower ones with only exhaust always challenge the faster cars O_o

Theres one thing in all these posts that I for one dont believe...

EVERY time someone races another car with a girl in the passenger seat they tell the story how the girl in the end winks, or blows them a kiss or whatever theyd like to believe she did. Im willing to bet this never happens, as the girl probably doesnt give a **** whose car is faster! I find it really hard to believe all these guys girl friends are that quick to take a liking to some other guy, merely because he has a faster car! Believe what youd like, I still think all these street races dont end like a fairytale and the girl wants the guy in the muscle car!

As far as the kills, nice stories, very well written and pictures to boot, thumbs up!

I agree for the most part but I must say that I have always picked up more chicks in the two cavaliers that I owned over the two camaros that I have onwed. I have no idea why but that is how it worked out for me.

Cavaliers = 4 chicks on dates
Camaros = 0 chicks on dates

I am a loser.

DAMN RIGHT!

And she DID wink! Don't believe me if you want losers, keep picking up chicks in cavaliers!! But I'm gonna get me that CRX hunny.. I think she wants me

Honestly this was the first time a girl has ever flat-out, for sure, winked at me in this kind of situation. Usually they're just smiling because they think racing is fun or something. Or they think their guy won and they look at me like "haha you lost." LOL.

First time I've ever gotten a positive reaction. The dude was ugly though.

And no I'm not ugly LOL.

C'mon shifty you stud, you can't tell me a girl never winked at you in your camaro? 25th?

I have never noticed a girl wink, but maybe that was the guys sister? I know for a fact my girlfriend would never wink at a guy who beat me, as she could care less about who has a faster car (and she is a racer). I guess I just read these kind of things too many times, yet its always on message boards and never hear about them in the real world.

I do get girls winking, smiling, and whatever when there is no racing involved, but its usually a car full of girls, and not a girl with her boyfriend!

I also have yet to use my car to get a girl (unless you count my GF who I met at the track). I wasnt even near the car when we started talking, and she didnt know what I drove till we raced (dont worry I beat her, 12.80 to her 14.21 ).

I did meet her at the track, and can say this, she must not be the average Mustang girl then...

They do look like escorts, and Im fine with that, looks are subjective, performance isnt!

I had a girl grab my arm, and tell me that her friend thought I was cute and wanted to kiss me. Then we started making out on the sidewalk. I was drunk and was trying to find the burrito lady though, so I ran away without saying a single word to her. I only even made eye contact for about 4 seconds before we were too close to see each other; then I ran away. lol But the only girls I've ever had wink at me were ones I was already dating.

We can get back on topic as soon as I mention that for a little more money* you can get them with carbon fiber runners.

*What's a few hundred more when you're already paying $3,900 for them anyway right?

You should write for a magazine. The visual aids were great....
i raced a 96 GT stang on the street a few weeks ago, and let him leave the line first (no stop light on a back road) he had 3 cars before i pulled him and waved bye-bye as i passed. His girlfriend didn't wink but she waved back.... She was buck toofed and nasty though

nice killz

You guys have never seen the video of the guy running on the dyno? He makes like 1/3 of a horsepower, at the feet.

It's been like a year since I've seen it so I've got no idea where to look for it. They basically put a chain from the wall to his belt so he can run on it. It's pretty pathetic. I think it was in a Supra video or something. Try doing a google search for it.

I think it was a mustang video. I believe I've seen it on http://www.tremek.com/forum . Was at the end of the video.

edit: found it. not sure if its the one stu is talking about but at the end of this video 2 guys are on the dyno.

My car only had more wheel horsepower than 3 of those cars in the video. Anyway, that one was a little different, but it was basically the same thing. Thanks for the video, it was pretty good.
