The RX-8 has a more reliable and generally better motor than the third gen RX-7, but they're much slower. I think you've got this one.

Now if it were the newer RX-7 it would be a different story.

What is done to your car? What is in that "350" of yours and what induction is on it? Without knowing that info your car could still be in the 16's.

TPI on what engine though? Stealth ram, super ram, mini ram, ported OEM TPI, wide mouth base, etc etc. These are all "TPI". If you put a stock OEM TPI system on a 150hp '76 350 truck motor he will probably lose. If he has an worked L98 with a dyno tuned TPI set-up (take your pick from the above) he will win.

I wish i did. I wanted to find out that info myself. All i know is a friend of mine bought the engine here..http://www.atk-engines.com/
Although i couldn't really find anything on the targetmaster motor on the site. I know the papers i got w/ the engine said targetmaster comp. But there were no specs with the engine.

I think it might be a close race because I'm not really seeing anything special that would put his car in the 13's. Well maybe low 14's so I guess david roush will win.

Well i have a 5 speed TPI so in first gear the car will spin till it wants to kick out sideways, definitly burns the tires off in second for about 10-15 ft,and even can chirp/spin third a little sometimes w/ stock 3.08 gears. Not that it's the baddest motor around, but it has no "get up and go" problems.Well at least not to about 3000-3500 rpms.
Anyways i am not really huge into street racing but i was traveling the interstate the other day and it was wide open. This kid came flying up beside me while he was in the slow lane(I guess where he belonged)and just hung right at my door. So we slowed down to about 30 mph to start. I really never saw him beside me after i hit 4th gear but when i looked at my speedo i was around 95-100 mhp and he was about 15-20 car lenghts behind. I don't know when he gave up but he did. Turns out he knows a guy that works for me. He told his friend he was pi$$ed and wants to sell his car now.

The length of 2 1/2 average sized cars is probably about a bus length. So essentially what you are telling us is that you beat the kid by at least 6 school buses? If he was even remotely trying to race you, I don't think you would put that many lengths on him, especially not when you shutdown at around 100 MPH.

Try again.

Isn't that the sweetest thing to hear when you spank someone! Sounds like you got yourself a nice little mean machine. If you ever come to Greensboro NC let me know I would like a peice of that Target Master!
