84 trans am vs 95 integra
what would happen if i raced this kid with a 95 integra it has the 1.8 vtech, and also has a CAI, and also a GSR tranny... thats all the kid says it has i dont believe it till i see it because this other kid who set this up wants to see my car get smoked because i smoked his piece of **** CRX a while back. i have the following, flowtech headers, dual 2 1/4 inch pipes, Accel ignition, and i removed the A/C and the smog pump pulleys, i know that is not much but its enough right now, im working on getting the Flow tech Y pipe and a cam that will be in before i race him. then the exhaust will be 3 1/2 to a flow master 50 series muffler. thats all for now, tell me what i think.

If you get a cam you'll take him. Without the cam it's going to be a mighty slow race to the 16s somewhere.

so do i have to change out the lifters if i get the cam?
First of all there is no "H" in VTEC.
Second, there were only two Integras with VTEC. 1) The GSR. 2) The Type-R. No one with a Type R would brag about having a GSR tranny.
Third, a CAI on that car might gain him all of 3 hp at the wheels.
Finally, it sounds like he knows as little about his car as you do. If you can run in the 15's it should be a good race.
An LS (non-vtec) Integra should be a mid to high 15 second car.

What are the specs on this cam?
A cam will really wake your motor up if you've got an aftermarket intake manifold to match your headers. The biggest limiting factor on your car is the fact that it's an 84 LG4, so it's got the dished pistons. If you had a newer LG4 with flat-tops your compression would be above 9.0-1 which would help.
Your car should already be in the high 15s. I had a buddy who did most of the same mods to his 80-something Monte Carlo with an LG4 and hit a 15.9 using a non CC carb with a CC distributer (and thus getting NO timing advance
) with a TH-350 trans. Your car is heavier than a G-body, but you've got a tranny with a much better first gear and unless you've ditched your CC Q-jet, your ignition advance should be working properly. So you might be able to win this as-is. You should just take it to the track and get a timeslip. When you know what your car runs, it makes the guesswork a lot easier.

1. GSR and Type-r teggys arent that bad. They will put up a fight with a 305. With a nice turbo, theyre monsters.
2. No honda tuner that knows how to tune goes around bragging about their vtec. They know kids that dont know what theyre doing overrate them. Its sad that they get stuck with the stereo type just because they have a vtec under their hood.

You should get into trouble for posting that video. It's called VTEC, says I <3 my Honda in the begining, yet I saw a 240sx, two Focuses, three Cavaliers, an Impreza, and an Elante; none of which are Honda. Terrible video. I've seen great videos trashing on ricers, but that certainly wasn't one of them.
If you want to see a good anti-***** video, search for that one that was posted on here last year with the Austin Powers theme song.

That video doest really rip on v-tec. except for the opening credits. I think the song is quite serious.. I saw that there was all kinds of cars that were not v-tec... It was funny though, the lyrics are great... I do respect the technology, and i think pulling 240 HP out of a N.A 4 cylinder is amazing (S2000)

there aint nothing wrong with the preferance people like on vehicles, if it was strickly you could only own a V-Tec, then people would start trying to build something new, thats how it always is, same with the 305/350 chevy... thats the world, thats the car buisness... and besides.. I HAD A ****** ONCE!!!!

off the top of my head i think those are the specs correct.
Also another one to consider would be the XR270HR. It's a 218/224 on a 110 LSA, good for a carbureted motor.
There are lots of good cams to choose from. The hotcam is a particularly good one because that package has everything in it you'll need to install that cam properly.

Italian Retard Out Cruising?
I took a picture of a pink Third Gen last night with my cell phone. I don't feel like uploading it though. Also, on the way back from my parents house I drove by the house I grew up in and there was a house with a big field for a yard. There were FIVE Third gens parked like in a semi circle. Looked like a person car show or something. If it were in a parking lot, each car would have been about three space apart just to give you an idea of how they were spaced. I guess if you're going to have old cars in your yard, they might as well be clean show cars.

it collapes because i hit a wrong part in the road at 125 mph going to the job site.. its custom exhaust... so it hangs a bit.. its not right next to the header its a good 2 feet away, but i still cant floor it.. it falls on its face
it could also be vacumm but i dont want to believe that yet

yeah, i know it seems, that when your going fast and hit the concrete really hard it tends to smash in the exhaust pipes....hmmm =)

no i knew it well, i just didnt know it well with the headers... i threw the headers on and forgot how much lower the exhaust sat compared to the OEM. so yes i was a idiot but i knew the road well enough to go that fast.. i knew the little areas where i should keep a good speed of 65.. and where to go 125.. however i did not know where the exhaust was going to hit
