just a few mins ago, my and my friend jeff raced, he has a 99 camaro 3.8 A4, we just finished putting in the k&n intake system, had him by a car in 1st and 2nd, he caught up and put half a car on me in 3rd, and then grabbed 4th and put 2 cars on him by about 110.

no, i put 2 cars on him, and in 3rd, he put a half a car on me, and in 4th by going 80ish-110ish, he fell off and i put 2 cars on him, beating him, he has an a4, and doesnt know how to foot brake launch, and they arent that great in stock form when youre going that fast

oh, and we were going uphill from start till the end of third, i grabbed 4th at the top of the hill and rode it untill about 4800ish rmp, i dont know how fast that is since i have a 85mph speedo, the needle goes about 1.5 inches past 85, the top speed calulator says 112

this is why i never post here, i forgot all v6's blow ****, youre right, i dreamt it all, useless post, it seems that going up and down a hill, 2 different cars with different gearing/transmissions/weight/ and different power band ranges cant go back and forth in a 20 sec race, have you ever driven a 60* v6?, its powerband(or lack there of) is about 2000-4500rpm stock, if i dont shift until 5500 rpm in a third gear, that could make a difference like that in a race against a car that pulls all the way in every gear...ignorant..edit..i just read a post where you stated you were "underestimating the power of those little 3.8L engines", so if you dont know, you have no room to call bs

I don't really have a problem believing that you won or lost against him, because either way that's not what I was calling BS on. It's the fact that you guys change up so much going up to only 110, and changing multiple car lengths at that. Altogether you said you changed up 4½ cars before reaching 110 MPH, and all while going uphill as well. I'm sorry, but I sincerely doubt those two V6s have enough difference in power to be changing positions by car lengths through each gear. Hell, even if I raced a car similar in power to mine (like how you describe your story) I wouldn't be able to do that and my car is probably as fast if not faster than your car--don't take it the wrong way, my car is about as slow as they come so I have no room to brag compared to some members' cars.
In any case, all I was trying to point out is that it seems like you streched the truth of what really happened, accidently or otherwise. Until you can prove me wrong I will still wave

You must have a very modded 3.4 because the 3.8 puts out 200hp. My best friend has a 98 with the 3.8 5spd and it goes very well for a V6. It could be drivers error though. I was also wondering why you guys are racing on a dang hill?

well, its the only long empty stretch of road, but i drove his car a few days ago and it feels faster, but the fact is..the kid is an idiot, he couldnt figure out how to install his K&N air filter and has wrecked 4 cars in less than 2 years. pulling 3rd gear to 5500 is a longgg time ina 3.4, and going up hill non the less, theres very little acceleration going on past 70...so in 3rd gear he caugt up and what i should of said by meaning half a car, ..half of his car was out front, like my bumper was at the front of his door...and in 4th, i pulled on him going down hill,, its a very long hill, o and i am modded, see the sig aqt the very top of this thread. after i get my top end back together, ill see about getting a vid

from what i remember of my friends 3.4L in his 92, it couldn't go up a hill fast enough to be a threat to anyone. I think it topped out at like 110 on a downslope.

where are the mods? all I'm seeing are you removed a few small little things. and added a few small little things. not really mods as they don't do that much

a port and polish that is uniform across each runner helps out ALOT, you need to know the weak points of these motors and the weak points are the crappy intake/exhuast design and no, i dont have many 'bolt-ons' but mods aka MODIFICATIONS i have plenty of, a lot of little things add up.
