Not a really really true race, but one that was fun.

On my way home one night, I was just cruising and I saw four round headlights coming from behind pretty fast. I was trying to decide if I wanted to keep going (better road to race) or turn the way I was going to go...to go home (had new GF with me, didn't know if she liked racing). Well I turned and I noticed he trned as well....so I must have made correct decision. We go through this little two lane road and I give it some gas to see if he is goign to play....yep his headlights stay right on me, so now I know it is on. We get to the HWY (Still two lane but long straigh away) Just as I merge, he jumps into opposite lane to pass me, I was like...o hell no so I punched it.....here is how it go from there:

we were door to door up to about 60
60-80 I start to pull on him
80-100 I am about a car
100-110 he gets behind me
120-130 he starts fading fast

then I have to let off cause of the curves ahead, then he gets on my but as if he can take the turns better, so I give it gas into the turns (these turns have signs that say 35mph) I was doing about 110 through the S-Turns, he had to let off cause he almost lost it. As I pulled into my drive way he pulled in behind me and we talked for a little while, he still does not believe my car is stock.......lol. Cool guy though, he honks when he passess my house now......hehe

actually yes and no, she is still around, but I have an even newer GF now......lol. But that night, lets just say I found out racing turned her on......hehe

 

sweet run, a friend that build my dad engine bought an 06' mustang, ur L98 sounds pretty strong.

 

it is very stron for it being stock with 150k on it, but it came from the factory with the SLP set up, so that helps allot too. Fatsest stock TA I have ever owned.

 

Sounds like a fast TA. Our stock 06 with two people in the car and CRAP weather went 100 mph in the 1/4. Car should be deeper 13s and 102+ on a cool day down at sea level. If your pulling one up top you have yourself a mid 13s car or better!

 

I have never ran the car at a track, but the magazine I have for the SLP TA shows it running 14.02 @ 100 mph. The guy may not have known how to drive it good and all that, so I can't say it is all car....but could be the driver too....it was manual btw. From a dig, I would love to race one, and a guy at my work just bought one.....but he will not race me, says he is scare to race me......lol. He just has to get familiar with his car is all, then it will be ok....I guess. I have had my car up to 155 (guessing cause speedo only goes to 140, but the motocycle I was racing said he was at 150 and I was still pulling him) I am telling you I have a factory freak plus the SLP....I love this car......lol.
