Motor wise, what will it take to beat an S2000 in the quarter? Anyway I can do it with a 305? Would a good running 305 be able to do it with a shot of giggle gas?

high 13 second cars if driven right...though that's not really what they're built for.

If you're talking about the LO3 in your RS don't bother. :waits for the LO3 fanboi's to come rushing in:

Most stock S2000's are low 14's from what I've seen. You better be a good driver to run a high 13 seeing as they're super hard to launch. A healthy L98 with G92 should be able to hold its own. A bolt on LB9 the same thing.

Deweys L03 would rape a S2000.

The S2000 better not miss a shift or my old L03 combo in the Van would have hunted him down. Best run was a 14.67 @ 95.63 in the 1/4 with a 2.08s 60' time, NA.

Damn. That sucks. I haven't got the car yet, but the deal is pretty much done. Its a 92 RS Green and Gold Heritage Editions. Because of its rarity, I want to keep it as stock as possible. I realize its not a super rare car, but it was only made 1/2 a year, there can't be THAT many left on the roads.

I understand where you're coming from, but it's a car not an investment. Cut, weld, and mod that thing up...

You know, your right. I think I might buy my 92 silverado back and use the 350 out of that and just build a mild 350 with spray. No need to make it wild.

the nitrous shot would be more HP than the 245 the s2000 has total... Not bad for a NA four banger.

I have raced one before.

I have a '91 gta with 305tpi. AFPR, headers, comp cam, 3.42 gears, ported plenum, LCARBS and shift kit.(no nitrous when I raced him)

We were very close to each other.

He had to launch at 5000rpm and spun bad(any lower rpm and he's bog).

I launched excellent.

I g-teched him and he had about a 14.4-14.3 in the 1/4 mile.

Here's my old post

I raced my friends from a dig and beat him pretty bad. We then raced from a 40 roll and we were even up to about 80 mph, then I started pulling him again. Pretty fast little car when they get up to their high RPM range.

Putting a 350 in place of the 305 can only increase its value.

I raced an S2000 with my 87 GTA ( L98 ) and I lost by at least 2 car lengths. we raced to about 90 MPH from a dead stop. I edged him out at first, but around 60 he passed me and kept pulling. My GTA ran 14.5 @ 95 at pittsburg raceway park.

I took an S2000 through the 1/8 mile in my old '97 V6 Camaro (3.8) with intake Headers and Exhaust. I ran a 15.8 @ 89 and he ran a 14.8 @ 95, I was running 2.3 second 60 foots to his 2.8 seconds He managed to pull about a length on me by the 1/4 mile mark.

With a good driver i have seen them run low 14's high 13's i ran one coming up an on ramp starting at about 45 to 95 i only was able to get about half a car on him.MY car has a c.a.i.,foil,h/w bypass, ported upper plenum, small cam, headers,no cats, hooker exhaust and built 700r4 and it also weighs over 4000 pounds with me and a full tank of gas so i wasnt mad about the results i think from a dig i could leave him with no problem. My car is a fully optioned 89 gta with a full system to add more weight to an already heavy car

You need some help for sure with your motor..
Get some Good headers, Y pipe and Exhaust...
Keep the stock Cam and put in a different one...

I have seen them run high 13's, but you have to BEAT the SNOT out of it...
Hopefully you have a conservative driver..

A NOS kit some headers with a uncorked exhaust and a good set of tires should do the job.

NAH, no Nitrous

Weiand 142 TBI supercharger under a 4" cowl hood

LT4 Roller cam

Full exhaust from the head ports back

Tuned EBL setup with 2-bar MAP sensor

350 HP/450 TQ

I had a L05 with more or less those parts.

Here is the result in a 3.08 geared Fullsize Van
