Re: 89 vs mustang

He claims he is putting out around,230-240 hp at the fly wheel. I thought it might be kinda close but I would still win.

Yea, he's smoking a good load. He'd have to to be internally modded (cam/heads) or boosted to get those numbers out of the 3.8 in the Ford. Even if he was, I doubt he's got the torque to match a stock L98. Shouldn't be ap roblem.

Re: 89 vs mustang

i think it will be closer then you will want. but if your Iroc is running the way it should then you will be able to pull from the start and stay there. that L98 has more torque then the v6 at least i would think so.
----------
thats right it's a 99. haha 3.8 junk a$$ v6. noway!!! you have that all day long. i was thinking the new 4.0 that comes with more then 200 hp.

Yea, the new 4.0 is a different animal, I had once pretty much staying with me the other day, prior to my non-cc conversion. I'm sure he was pleased with himself, staying with alongside a car with an extra liter of displacement and 2 more cylinders.

Re: 89 vs mustang

thats really hard to say. if it's not all BS then he might be able to high 14's. i really wouldn't worry about it much. if he likes to talk S%$# then remind him that there is nothing cool about a 6cyl mustang. i think the woman that lives next to me has a 6cyl mustang and she is 90.

He might be just under a 15.0 with the gears, the mods above, and a good launch, you should easily beat that with a stock L98 in almost any running condition, certianly with a good running one. For comparison, my 99 Grand Am would run even with a stock 99 v6 stang, and that car went 15.7 stock.

That pretty much sums it up, if its running, and doesn't have a glaring mechanical problem, you'll smoke him.
