Ive got an 86 Iroc with 355 186 cast heads w/ 2.02 1.60 276 crane cam not sure the exact specs, TPIS Bigmouth intake 52mm tb 24lb injectors,some kind of fancy computer RAM IV I think. stock 700r4 with 3.73 gears. all this was built by previous owner, but it seems to be right. So my question is ......Can I beat a stock 95 z28 6 speed???? P.S.( Ive only had my car running for about 3 days so it still needs minor tuning but it runs pretty darn good right now) This guy has been on my A#$ wanting to race for days Should I , or will I get SPANKED?????

 

Should be close. I would think it would be a drivers race, depending on how good he is at driving a manual.

 

If the Z28 is stock you should beat him pretty well.

 

If its running right, it should be a blow-out. Cam specs would tell more. You didn't mention exhaust either, I'm assuming with heads/cam you've got headers and 3" all the way back?

 

The paperwork that I have on the cam says adv 270-276 @50 210-216 deg lobe 114 and yess its 3 inch with converter still there to flowmaster

 

I'd think you're well on your way to some mid-low 13 second passes, that ought to beat a stock LT-1 pretty easily. A stall converter, shift kit, and stickie tires would make things all the better.

 

Thanks for the info. I have had alot of third gens but I think this is the fastest so far, I found it sitting in some guys back yard about a month ago. Asked if it was for sale and BAM now its mine. Had to put new pump and tank and injectors. The car sat for 5 years so I think a tune-up is in order next Thanks again P.S Do you know roughly what that might run in the 1/8 if everything is right????

 

What have you got for rubber? You're ability to launch is a factor for both you're quarter and 1/8th mile times. I'd guestamate real roughly 8.6 seconds in the 1/8, 13.5 in the 1/4. With a proper tuneup of course.

 

Assuming your car runs good you will take him. I used to stay neck and neck with my friends 97 6 speed with less mods.

 

Well, it sounds like your friends LT1 would go 139 if it is well taken care of, you should be able to dip into the low 13s if everything is in order tune wise. WAX HIM.
