should i have won?
should i have won?
i have a mostly stock 89 ta 305
at the time of these races i only had a flowmaster muff. msd ignition and a airfoil
from about a 20 mph roll i stayed even with an lt1 camaro
(think it was bad driving, he droped back a little everytime he shifted then cought back up)
im pretty sure i would have one this next one but still mid 90s firebird jumped way out in front of him.. then got destroyed by a ss... hahha
then i absolutly smashed a mid 90 eclipse (non turbo)
and finaly my friends 02 rsx base 5spd
do these sound right?

Hmmm, sounds like you might be running a 350, check the back of the block and see if it said 5.0 or 5.7, you might get a surprise.

Re: should i have won?
what is the 8th letter of your vin? At least that will tell you what originally came in the car. E is 305 TBI, F is 305 TPI, 8 is 350 TPI. Somebody may have thrown a 350 in there!

Re: should i have won?
yea cause you take a 350 block throw on the 305 l98 tpi intake and heads and you got a "305 TPI" the blocks are the almost the same in look and alot of there parts are interchangeable

Re: should i have won?
Yes the blocks look the same and the parts are all completely interchangeable.... But there is no such thing as a 305 l98 intake with heads thats gonna make it a 305 tpi. If You have an L98 block and throw a TPI setup from a 305 it will still be an L98. The F body TPI intakes are the same whether it came from a 350 or 305.

yeh its possible ive already ran into a few small surpises on this car that the owner didnt mention.. such as the exaust from the cat back was already 3", and there was a hypertech chip in it.. but other than that the engine bay looked pretty stock.. but the guy used it mainly as a show car so he possibly was tryin to keep a stock look
Re: should i have won?
yeh the vin claims its a 305
ive been tryin to think of some other losses ive had to see if that helps, all i can think of at the moment is
camaro ss
96 bolt on mustang cobra
(got killed in both those)
and had a close race with a 02 or 03 crossfire (base 6spd)
lol that one was actually my moms car but belive it or not shes a pretty good driver, i think i could have got her from a dig cause i dont think she can launch though, and i had a cat that was starting to collapse but it wasnt that bad a the time so i dont think it made that big of a difference
