a friend of mine just got a 2007 VW Rabbit and i told him i wanted to race him sometime. well tonight was that sometime.

his car is bone stock. my car is in sig.

we went from a stop twice. the first time he stalled the car out and i took the win easy. the second time we caught a light and he jumped it early, so when he actually left he was 1/2 a car ahead of me to start. i stalled it up to 1k and launched from there. got a little tire spin but not bad. i slowly reeled him in and passed him by ~85-90 mph and didnt let off until 110. by then i was out in front by maybe 1/2 a car. the third time we went was from a twenty. this time he didnt jump early and i got the initial pull. the entire time his nose was at my back bumper and neither one of us were pulling on the other.

overall, i was pretty impressed with the v dub. it was one of the closest races ever ive had. now if i could just get those darn gears!! lol

 

for the mods in your sig, thats pretty lame....that less than 200hp @ the crank rabbit was all over that a$$

 

Man, don't think I would have admitted a volkswagen rabbit almost beat me LOL ... Funny though I give you that!

which mods? the open element? or maybe the 160* stat? i believe the car in his sig with all the mods was sold. looks like the only car he has left is the last one on the list

 

you are right, I spaced that it was not the 350 car as its sold

 

yeah that race def wasnt in my 86. but heres the thing. those rabbits make the same horsepower as an L03, weigh about 400-500 pounds less, make less torque but with a much better rear gear ratio. its just so damn hard to push a car as big as ours with 2.73 gears and only 170 hp.

 

Good kill. The L03 isn't a quarter mile beast. Those cars aren't as much of a slouch as people would like to believe.
