Who is going to win?
My buddy has an 1998 Z28 with the LS1 its dynod at 325 rwhp and 342 torque, has 4.11 12 bolt, t56 with stock clutch, street tires.
My setup is a 383 ~400-450 rwhp same torque if not more, 3.23 10 bolt (4th gen), t5 stage 3 centerforce clutch (the car will have a 700r4 after building it), and DR's.
Who is going to be faster in the 1/4 mile. He isnt going to bore shift nor am i seeing how i dont want to dump the t5 all over the track. He keeps telling me that a pro can drive his car into the 12's but he is far from pro. I know with auto my car should easily be 11's but the t5 i have no idea.
Thanks in advance, Chas

Re: Who is going to win?
You'll most likely have him beat, unless he learns how to shift like a pro quickly. Then it all depends on who jumps better.
Should be a good race. Going to record it?

My 383 runs World Sportsman II's with a 280XFI. I should be in the low 12's. Is your cam the XE284? XE290? I also run a WCT5 with a centerforce dual friction with 3.70's...
Those GM casting heads aluminum?

Re: Who is going to win?
unfortunately they aren't. Im running the XE284H-10 i have to swap the firing order of 2 of my wires if that helps u narrow it down. i was looking at my flow numbers and they flow about the same as the sportmans. the only thing is that on the dyno sheet from comp they dont specify the the intake runner or the exhaust runner size.

Re: Who is going to win?
i would think your making 425-450 hp at most at the flywheel, not rear wheel. you should be sitting at 375 rear wheel. you'd have to make 525 flywheel hp to get into the 425-450 rear wheel range. i doubt your that high. if your on dr and he's on streets, you got him by a longshot.

Re: Who is going to win?
You should win. I run a stock bore 350 with heads and cam and run 12.01. Should be a little better with more tuning. Most stock or slightly modded LS1's cant hang with me. If he is running street tires and you DR's then you shouldnt have a problem winning.
Oh yeah, Im not sure on my Hp rating but my et/speed is in my sig. My car with me and 1/2 tank of gas weighs in at 3350. His car should weigh more than yours depending on any weight reductions either has done.

Re: Who is going to win?
Depending on your cam rpm range and type intake you are running, you need a higher rpm converter. Are you letting it flash or are you loading on the brakes?
Re: Who is going to win?
loading on the brakes gets me the best 60'
ive tried letting the converter flash with no improvement oi actually only get 2700 rpm outa my combo
i wish i could snap my fingers and make it a 4500 stall (my peak tq is only 428 lbs @4800rpm)
