Re: Who will Win?

If you know you'll do 110 in the 1/4(yet you didn't list your 1/4 mile time which is odd) then why are you asking this question? At first I thought it was the car listed in your sig but I don't think it is. How do you know it'll do 110? Do you have any track times?

If you car in fact traps at 110 there's no need to even ask the question, you're going to murder him...(and he has a 4L60-E not a 700r4)

Re: Who will Win?

While not exactly simple, the [1995] Impala SS is the result of dipping into the Chevrolet parts bin and combining a 260 hp Corvette LT1 V8 pushrod engine with a modified police car suspension and large 17 inch wheels with sticky tires in a slightly-restyled Caprice Classic sedan. It is a civilian version of the police special with an upgraded interior and without a light bar across the top
With 260 hp and 330 lb/tq and weighing around 4200 pounds, you should easily take him, since your car weighs about a 1000 pounds less with about the same power and torque.

Here's the Impala SS times:

0 to 60 mph 7.4 sec
1/4 mi (E.T.) 15.9 sec

You should be able to wax him hard...If this is the case I'd race him for $$$$$ ! I run a very similar Erson roller, you'll kill him...

He's using his almost stock Z28. Although, I wouldn't mind watching him take his RS against that Impala.

Then his "almost stock" Z28 sure as hell isn't trapping at 110.

Now we need to get into the mods on his Z28...I think I might have to rethink my prediction, lol.

Re: Who will Win?

He's still lighter, better gears, and almost the same power and torque. But I agree, we need to know more about this Z28

Re: Who will Win?

Yeah, there's no real reason he should lose...but still...110 isn't happening from a TPI motor unless it has some major mods.

Re: Who will Win?

I agree, maybe the previous owner lied to him? Then again I wouldn't mind if they did if I had another Camaro that could do 110 easy.

Re: Who will Win?

How'd you get the l98 intake to fit double-hump heads. What about your accessories. Seems like more work than it's worth.

I believe the '85 (maybe '86 too?) l98 intakes should bolt directly to the double-hump heads.
And, as I recently discovered, there are kits to mount the accessories from our cars to engines without mounting holes in the heads, or the accessory mounting brackets and power steering pump from any car that originally had double-hump heads will work.
