Friend of mine is into the foxes and they are quick but not faster than an ls1. It all really depends on the cam.

Lets say he picks up another 20rwhp from the tune(and that's being generous), he still isn't even close.
I'm surprised you even asked this question heh.
Have fun, don't go too hard on him.

Having driven a heavily modified fox body and owning a 99 6sp z28 the mustang doesn't stand a chance. Fox bodies have good take off torque in first gear but don't pull as good afterwards. The ls1 pulls hard all the way up to 160mph

Yeah he keeps saying how light it is and he thinks it dynoed low. Ive never driven one so I dont know. I put down 340wrh and 350 lb ft on a dyno jet with the ws6. I think the dyno was high. I am probably closer to 320 at the wheels, and maybe 360 motor.

Also consider the fact that if all his top end stuff is fairly new how old is the bottom end? Has it been rebuilt also or is it 69,000 miles old? Is this really a prob to figure out? He has a car that's twice as old and 3 times the mileage on his bottom end. Just tell him shut up and go to the track. Timeslips don't lie or under/over rate a car like a dyno might

Re: 88 Mustang vs 98 WS6
How hard have you driven your car? Have you ever felt it stop pulling? I dont even thing I have hit the rev limiter on mine. Just get on it, get pined back and stay there! Nothing else I have driven feels like an LS1. Not saying nothing out there will beat one........just saying they pull.......Fairly stock a fox body it not much more than a stop light jumper. Stock on stock against a 3rd gen with the right driver a Fox usually takes it. And they can be prettybad azz. But not LS1 bad (Stock on stock) or Slightly modified on stock

Re: 88 Mustang vs 98 WS6
Dude where are you racing Highway for top-end or Dragstrip? My buddies 99 Camero SS was beat by a 91 Mustang with 245 RWHP on the strip. They are really light. On the I10 Josh's Camero walked away from the mustang after about 105mph. If the stang has drag slicks and u dont it's a toss up. If u have slicks (Josh didnt) You will kill him!!

Hey guys. I wouldnt be surprised if he had the stock cam because I raced his red 5.0 5 speed on the highway from a 60mph roll and I destroyed him. By 110I had about a bus length on him.

Re: 88 Mustang vs 98 WS6
when i was stock (325rwhp/342rwtq) i raced a 91 lx (lighter than gt) 5.0 heads/cam 5 speed and we were dead even till mid 4th where i started to pull him. pretty quick car. then i raced my friends 91 vert 5 speed mods were a mild cam( dont know the specs) shorty headers, full exhaust. he got me off the line like 2 car lengths. by second gear i pulled him like a civic. by mid mid 4th gear i was 5-6 car lengths ahead of him.

Hey 89IrocZ350TPI Check out Youtube I've seen a 2001 T/A WS6 with only a SLP lid, beat a 2000 Vette with a roll on. Just type in Trans Am WS6 on youtube!
