94 cobra

Tonight a guy i knew from school pulled up near me riding in his friends 94 cobra. He said it had about 380hp and it was stock (i looked it up and found it to be more like 240 ). I still don't have my car back from getting the new transmission fixed but i asked him if he wanted to race a bmw. Its a stock 01 m3 that im pretty sure would wax that mustang. I hope to have my car back by this weekend if he accepts the race i wanna join in. I know the m3 should kill him but how do you think id stack up. 86 z28, 350, edelbrock 600 carb, headman shorty headers, edelbrock performer intake, aftermarket cast iron heads with 2.02 intake valves, a pretty small cam, rebuilt 700r4 with a b&m shift kit and a 2000 stall, and an open rear with 2:73's(the bad). Any idea how much power it makes or how id stack up against the m3 and the cobra(i think i can take the cobra) i wanna at least hang with the m3 for a while off the line.

don't know about the cobra, but a buddy of mine had a 95 gt, didn't race it or drive it, but was a passenger in it, didn't feel much faster than my 92 RS to tell you the truth, like i said though, never drove it just a passenger. Now that I think about it, probably doesn't help you, lol, oh well. Best of luck to you!

I saw somewhere it said it only had 5 more hp than the gt in 94, it also said the cobra ran a 15 second quarter mile.

Re: 94 cobra

the 94'/95' 5.0 Cobras were low 14 sec cars typically. high 13s with a good driver on a good day. your car with its mods should be around that as well

the M3 is about a second faster than both of you though

Re: 94 cobra

Why the 2000 stall? Thats not much more than stock. A 2600-2800 would have been better. Some gears would make a world of difference, maybe 3.42 or even 3.73 if its not your daily driver. The cobra will be a good race, the M3 will definitely hand both of your butts to you. Good luck and be safe.

I was thinking either 3.23 or 3.42, i have another car but i still like to driver the Camaro as much as i can. O and about the stall i was just going for a minor upgrade since my cams pretty small.
