Can I get in trouble?

I raced my friend's mustang right after work in front of the store we work in. We probably went 0-40+ and stopped. When we turned around our manager was out there looking pissed. There's probably cameras too. Do you think I'd get fired or can the police do anything even though they weren't there?

If your boss is a D_ _ _ , then he might call you out on it... my advice is don't crap where you frequent... next time you're at work be very polite and respectful toward your boss... depending on what type of relationship you two got, address your boss as Sir or Ma'am... Mr or Mrs... get my drift, kiss a** a little...

Re: Can I get in trouble?

It wasn't actaully the top guy, just the worst manager to close with that night. I really didn't want to race there, but my friend thought it would be the best place. I knew I shouldn't have raced in a parking lot... but I'm trying to get rid of my camaro so I'm abusing it before it's gone.

Re: Can I get in trouble?

If you really think he is gonna say something about it....Bring it up to him BEFORE he says something to you.

Apologize to him right off the bat & maybe he hasn't said anything to the big boss yet & won't.

If you do & didn't intend to anyways? No harm done. But if he was going to & doesn't because you apologized first? Butt saved!

Re: Can I get in trouble?

Ha thats funny.I doubt the cops will do anything as long as they dont catch you in the act.they SHOULD have more important things to worry about. At present i have 4 different jobs.2 or good paying but work is slow so the other two are just to fill in on the slow times and im on a friend basis with all but one. With all but one id laugh and say fire me please.i wouldnt worry too much about it but the bring it up before he does and be respectful would br the best approach imo.

No, don't worry about it. If it was so serious you'd know something by now.

Re: Can I get in trouble?

They talked to my friend on friday. They said, "Allen, can you tell me what you were doing on wednesday night after work?" "Racing." he replied. "Do you value your job here?" "Yes." he answered. "Good, let's make sure that doesn't happen again." They still haven't talked to me yet so I should be fine.

Re: Can I get in trouble?

I'm thinking that they probably didn't call the cops because they do know you. Kind of puts your employer in a bad position though. They have people that they have to answer to so you're putting them in a bind between you and their bosses, their neighboring businesses, the customers as well as the police. If I were your boss I would stop by and do a few doughnuts out front of your house.

Re: Can I get in trouble?

It was like a 3 second race at 10:15 at night the store closed at 9 there were no customers or traffic/civilians anywhere, it wasn't a big deal.

I'm just messing with ya.
Your boss is probably posting on some other forum about his employees racing in the parking lot.

Re: Can I get in trouble?

On another forum, someone linked imports drifting an empty parkinglot...or that's what THEY thought...someone pulled in off a side street right when 2 of them came from behind a blind spot...
nuff said about that...

A lil brown nose for a while & you should be ok.

Why'd they talk to him only--he DIDN'T " WIN "" .... did he...

Re: Can I get in trouble?

Ehhh actaully he did win at MB cause my tires kept spinning in place from all that power and torque and his little v6 just had a nice launch. And I was more catious than he was, he just turned 16 and got that car. But afterwards we went on the highway, perfect place. Two lane highway that's just straight for miles and the starting point has a set of lights and we were the only ones there. So on the count of 3 we raced, and I destroyed him there

My boss lives right next to the resturant. So i try to take it easy. but during the winter theres like 4 people in cars snow driftin. every time he just hears me cause the lack of an exhaust and pegging my rev limiter in second gear. Also he has a modded Saab Turbo that is a blast to drive

I'm so glad my boss is cool. he has a 7sec. drag rail that he did a burnout in the lot with.

But yea, it matters if your boss is a d!ckor not.

no, the police can't do anything. another thing thats good to know, It's illegal to pull someone over if they saw you doing something from private property, like a driveway

Re: Can I get in trouble?

It doesn't really matter. Any type of display or speed can result in a citation for reckless driving, at least in most states. You really need to be careful where you work. Any negative publicity on their property can get ugly. Besides, racing belongs on an approved track only. Someone could get injured or killed!!!!!

If they have a complaint, you could be in trouble. ever heard of the term Actual Physical Control. Just because you are on private property doesn't matter. Anything to disturb the normal can get you in a bind.!!!!!
