my friend just bought his GSX eclipse 5spd and put a 20g turbo on it hes a got a rebuilt engine etc. i have my completely stock 89 rs 5.0 tbi 5spd ragtop im wondering if i have a chance beating him with my 170HP rs ragtop hes got 210 hp stock with the 14b turbo now with the upgraded 20g turbo got me wondering....
but what i need to know is if i put a new full exhaust (headers,
y-pipe,cat-back) new heads, and how much that would cost to be installed norm. rate and if that will put me in any closer to beating his piece of &!#$
and if there's anything anybody can suggest for me to gain more hp

 

sorry to break it to ya bro , but even a full exhaust and some heads hes gonna beat you. if its a true gsx its AWD so more then likely his gonna leave you off the line then when the turbo spools pull on you. dont let the internet fool you. with a boost controller and some minor fuel management upgrades those things can hit mid 13s. and if your buddy already upgraded his turbo more then likely he already has a boost controller anf fuel mods. if he just has a boost controller then just hope he hits fuel cut

if you want to beat that kind of car your going to need a power adder , or a engine swap. yes you can make your 305 fast, but it needs a good amount of work

idk where your from but the shops where i live charge like 80-130 dollars a hour for labor. so if you want them to do all the work its gonna cost money

 

owww truth hurts i dont like these little turbo rice rockets so i will try and beat them at their own game how much will the cheapest turbo set-up cost for a

also what else is needed other than the turbo kit will i need to mod/change to allow my car to become turbo charged////will he still woop on my face after all that?

 

if i was you use your 92 z28.with that 350. run some spray and some slicks and some bolt ons and you might be able to beat him

Even if his car was bone stock you'd lose. Headers and exhaust won't help you beat his car the way it sits now. Heads? What heads? Are you doing a cam too? If not why bother with just heads?
