smoked when floored it
To make it thirdgen related see pic at bottom. Friend has 81 reliant and when he floors it it smoke screens the entire intersection. Why would it do that? Here is a better question my friend "hypotheticly" has a thirdgen with an iron duke and everytime he floors it his "hypothetical" thirdgen smoke screens the entire intersection. Any reason why his iron duke would do that? No real I-4 section so I think this will do because it is about fast acceleration.

Re: smoked when floored it
Possible valve guide seals or rings are bad. Check compression for rings, valve guides would need head work.

Re: smoked when floored it
It for sure sounds like rings or valve guides. Replacing the carb won't make it smoke. Valve guides usually puff smoke when you first start the engine. Bad rings will make it smoke when you get on it.

Not thirdgen related nor racing related...full of fail here.
Sounds like the engine is on its way out. Time to junk it or rebuild it.
