Father and son show down

Ok this is just something thats been in the back of my head since I've gotten my camaro.
How do you think I could stand against my fathers car.

1976 Vett 350 4bbl vs 1988 SC 305 TBI.

I know he would spank me but could I keep up with him just even a little ?

I one more question. My friend just got a 1966 mustang 289 2bbl. He thinks he can take my dads vett I would think no am I right ?

I'm not sure if you could take the stang, they rev up pretty quick but that vette would whoop some *** on you. 350 4bbl = 305 tbi good 6-7 car lengths behind = /

I'm willing to bet that if your car is in decent tune, then you will edge out that mustang..

I think I could take the mustang. I mean i haven't driven it but they don't seem that fast. They seem like they would be fast of the line but around 65-80 seems like it would fart itself out.

Most of those Mustangs came out with 289's and a 2 barrel carb. If that's what he has, you should get him easy.

I have a pending father and son battle as soon as the TTA is back on the road. My TTA against my son's 91 Mustang GT. The mustang has gone 11.64 @117 on motor and 10.97 @123 on nitrous. I think I can beat him with the TTA. The TTA went 12.32 @116 and not in very good tune up condition. It has new turbo, heads are worked, new rear and other stuff. The heads came off a TTA that ran 10.70 with the same configuration as my car has.

Would do you think the outcome would be?

Pete

Wether you beat him or not, the tta is the most bad *** third gen ever made. But without nitrous, I highly doubt you can get in the 10;s. Strap on the juice, and you'll beat his *** .

i am not sure when, but somewhere in the late 70's/early 80's the 350's were puttin out 170 hp in corvettes and camaros. the corvette could be worse off than you think unless he has rebuilt.

That was between 79 and 81. They weren't de-tuning them in 76.

How fast might a 1978 or79 supercharged Corvette 350 L84 be? I'm sure it would have had cam & exhaust work done. And any other mods that are needed to accomodate the supercharger.

Heads are where the most restriction usually is unless you got aftermarkets or ported a good set of stockers. Intercoolers are a great thing but not optional on Roots.

PS the stang would lose BAD with a 2 barrel 289 without mods. My votes on the Vette but you could tune/mod the crap outta the 305 to keep up but without forced induction the 305s a loser.

after 1971 or 72 they were not monster HP cars. They started losing power after that.
