Battle with NSX
Last sunday morning,I was coming back from a friends house from the night before,on Dale Mabry highway/street in Tampa.(no int acces until today)The weather was nice and crisp and my temp gauge showed around 170,so my car felt snappy.(its been 95+during midday,and makes it feel like a dog
Behind me,I see and hear this black NSX weaving in and out of traffic.He gets ahead of me,and I see its a pretty young guy driving.I dont know what year it was but he's got aftermarket chrome wheels on it,and I can see and hear he has some sort of stainless steel exhaust on it that makes it sound like a ***** on steroids!(thats all an NSX really is anyway
I'm following behind him to see if he want's to play,there is a break in traffic,he gets on it,I get on it,I hit about 110,and didn't gain any on him and slow down for cops and traffic.I'm thinking he's fast,but he got a slight jump on me(I hate it when guys don't wait up for you,and you have to hit high speeds to catch up
I catch up to him,and we are finally side by side doing about 50.I've got it in OD,and I hear him rev,I drop to 2nd and punch it,he pulls about 2 cars on me before I stop,DAMN,that SOB's fast!He's deffinately not stock,because I have raced 2 before with one of my vettes,which wasn't as fast as my T/A and waxed them.Okay,but lets see how fast he is off the line.I try him at the next light,right in front of Tampa Bay Bucs stadium.There is absolutely no cars ahead,I'm wishing I had some dragradials on so I can powebrake and really take advantage of my converter,and smoke this $40k+*****.I drop it into 1st and eek out at a 5mph roll,light turns,I stab it,go a little sideways,but less from a dead stop,I look over,I'm ahead by 1/2 car,car hooks,I look at my tach,shift to 2nd a little over 5k,tires bark,car goes sideways,then hooks,I HAVE HIM BY ATLEAST A CAR.YES!
I shift to 3rd at 5k,then I see him beside me as the ****er waves bye bye:mad
its times like these where a $500,little blue bottle would have been useful to
this guy.I pull up to him later and give him a thumbs up,but I wouldn't be to proud if I were him,considering what I paid for my car($6500 total,with parts)compared to him,and I had him a little over the first 1/8,but it was a memorable and bad a$$ race

Congratulations on your win, but an NSX is not a *****. It's a quality built import and not some Honda Civic with a fart can on. Other then that I bet it was a close race, cause the fastest of the NSX's (the 3.2 liter) ran the 1/4 in 13.5 so if you ran it in 13.2 you must have been worried.
Its still impressive to see an NA (right?) 3.2L put out these numbers from the factory. 290HP and 224lb ft, if I was to get any import it would definetely be the NSX

NSX's kick *** .
i hear that the new ones have an mpressive v8 in them. Titanium guts, and built. twin turbocharged i think.
and 13.5 sounds too slow for those cars, arn't they built to be running with the new vettes, and the vipers?
anyway, acura makes decient cars.

R&T did an in-depth article on the 91-98 NSX's and the fastest one (98) did 0-60 in 5.0 and the 1/4 in 13.5. The new V-8 Twin-Turbo (are you serious man?) will prolly beat the **** out of the Vettes though and most of the Vipers too.

and these cars in japan do not cost 40k plus(and no not 40k yen either) you can make out like bandits with the US-japanese currentcy exchange. You can take roughly 8K over there and exchange it over and get a NSX...(even have it shipped over) and If you think that the jap versions of these cars are like the "american" versions your wrong... these cars beat out the Supra's over there... and the Supras kiss the 400 HP mark stock over there...
You have to realize the imports are highly restricted over here because american tax them so high.
