Some GNX owner talking crap about our camaros

Ok i'm in this chat room and I read this guy saying how fast his GNX is hes putting out like 500 hp and saying how he can beat ANY ANY camaro. Just so I can say that theres a camaro out there that'll beat him I was wondering if any1 on this site has a camaro that could keep up with the GNX http://hometown.aol.com/mrv6/ <~~his site. I know the GNXs are fast but come on there must be some1 here that can keep up with it ???

Yeah, the TTA is the exact same motor in an F body.

He can spout off numbers and show a pic of somebody else's GN, but what about mods? I doubt he could gain those numbers without breaking into the motor. He might have a larger turbo system on there, but you can only go so far before haveing to swap cams and cranks and such.

That is not a GNX it is a GN.500 horse is a stretch but not impossible!93 octane without any other fuel I would say no for a untouched sealed block. With race gas I would say that yes it is possible. That is a sweet car looks like mine without the wheels.

Pretty sweet looking car. Always loved the lines of a GN. Thats a really clean example too. Not a fan of his arrogant attitude regarding Chevy's and Fords tho...the thing he should remember is that there is always a faster car. Did he mention any times? Over on LS1.org there are a bunch of guys that could probably hand him his a$$. The ones I'm thinking of live around and work at MTI in Houston. Or maybe Jon Moss' ZL1 big block that ran a 9.55 @144 mph

Hmmm... How to do 502hp w/ 576 ft-lb with under $2000 grand without cracking the valve cover. I will assume that I am starting with a sound engine LS1 or maybe a big block or 351 windsor or better yet a cleveland. If I don't care how long the engine lasts like this guy obviously doesn't then I could just go with Nitrous Oxide. If I don't want to go that approach it is off to the a big truck junkyard. After I pirate a couple of diesel turbos and an appropriate sized intercooler it is down time to go to home depot for the pipes and tubing to hook this beast up. Between alot of cutting, welding, rubber tubing, hose clamps, and measuring I should be there.

As a side note there is almost no limit of how much power you can make with a turbo-charger. If you want proof of this look at a 80's indy car with a turbo.

Yea i saw in one magazine that this one turbo could increase 1000 hp off 1 turbo and it was designed for twin turbo applications, like to see that under my hood

Just to add to this little post. I have an issue of popular hotrodding where there took a gnx and made 456rwhp and using what they call the reliable .8 factor to get flywheel horsepower, they say it should be around 570. They didn't state torque figures but this was completely drivable. There best lap at the strip was 11.91 at 117mph all on the stock suspension.

Unlike this guy though they changed heads and a cam but it still runs on pump gas and is supposed to be very reliable

Anyways thats just some stats I thought I would ad to this tread.

It just comes down to how much money you wanna spen don which ever car you happen to like.
Other than that, if I had a GNX, I would leave it bone-stock. It has some collector value, after all. There were less GNXs than there were TTAs.
On the other hand you can work-up any EFI Turbo Regal to GNX specs and beyond.
Somebody should point this out to the dim-witted GNX owner. What a waste.

Since he's talkin money, he didnt mention how much he spent on the GN? and then put another 2k in it. And then not telling us what it runs - too embarrassed maybe, or is it too good to take to the track? Just another wus talking trash! Yea, anybody can "say" they have 500hp, but backing it up with a quick time slip is another thing - my stock 305 has 600hp, yea right!
My question to him is lets see you do this -
Go high 10s for about 11k total in my car.
Bring it on, Mr GN - I love shutting up trash talking wuz's I wish he lived near Houston, I'd have to hand him his you know what. nuff-said

This guy is such an idiot. He made over 500hp with under $2000. Good thing a GNX is such a cheap and easy to find muscle car If I had the money that a mint 24,000mile gnx would cost to put towards my IROC I would HAND HIS *** OVER TO HIM. On my naturally aspired 350 with stock throttle body, stock ZZ4 aluminum heads, no ignition system, and 225 street tires I ran a 12.88ET. Over the winter I am going with a 383 stroker kit, fully polished and port the heads and put in some bigger valves, and either a 300HP NOS fogger setup or high tech racing is going to custom fabricate me a twin turbo intercooled kit. I spank that GNX like a $2 hooker.

DO NOT listen to this guy...EVERY GN/TTA/Turbo Regal guy i've talked to is very nice and helpful..this is the first ******* i've encountered...this guy is not liked among the turbo 3.8 community...basically ignore this *******

Just a little added info, that's a Grand National, not a GNX. There were only 547 GNX's ever made and they were special Grand Nationals done up by ASC/McLeran motorsports (also known for their mustangs) for GM. Not that this is really a big deal, but a GNX is way rare.
Anyway, don't see what the problem is, all of our cars are made by the General, tell this guy to get a life.

If a car talked to me like that, I would break his windshield, twist his mirror off, and pop his freaking tire!

DON'T LET CARS BACKTALK!
